His run of opponents is unlikely to drop off with a Brinkley/Markussen style marking time fight and he's long talked of stepping up in weight.

So who next?

a Kessler rematch is, I think, the best combination of marketability, a good match, and ( I would think) relatively easy to make.

Bit of a left field suggestion but what about Librado Andrade? Firstly, I think Froch needs an opponent at a lower level, but at the same time somebody who is competitive, and Andrade fits the bill perfectly, bit of a division gatekeeper.

Also, Andrade was due to fight in an IBF eliminator fight on Sat but it was cancelled because of a last minute dispute over the ring size. So maybe Froch could nip in and get the eliminator with him in the spring. Then he can pursue a summer superfight against either Kessler (assuming he beats Stieglitz which is no guarantee) or Bute as the mandatory - only way he will get a Bute fight in the UK as there is no way he will come over to the UK for a voluntary defence.

Andrade would be a very good fight but i don't think he would bring the $$$$$$$$

Ward is gonna rule at 168 from now on, I think Froch should step up to 175 as there's some winnable world title fights for him there and he doesn't have many fights left in him.

All of these bar Cloud would be mouth watering fights.

He mentioned Pascal in an interview I heard this morning.

I'd like to see him in a relatively easy homecoming - he's deserved the payday! - but can see him wanting to get back in at the top. Kessler II makes the most sense financially and in terms of legacy.

Maybe a homecoming fight against Brian Magee for Magee's WBA Interim Title. That would certainly get Froch back on track.

I was at their first fight at York Hall - can't there being much demand for a rematch

Maybe a homecomming fight for the Cobra and then a world title fight with either Kessler or Bute and hopefully then retirement and a full time role with Sky.

Froch is smart, articulate and well informed. He could be Sky's version of Antonio Tarver.

I'm being very pedantic here, but don't fighters have come off a big win to have a homecoming? And yes, I do remember Hatton vs Lazcano was hyped as a homecoming - still didn't think it was the right term to use.

An easy "homecoming" fight for him, which would give him some silverware would be a fight with Balzay the current "ordinary" WBA champion.

I meant it more in the sense he's been on the road for the last 5 fights.

He deserves an easy KO - so Cleverley.

'Someone' would never want it to happen though.

I would like to see Cleverly unleashed on him. Nathan has everything to beat up Froch .. alot of Froch opponents tire towards the end against Carl because of Carls pressure ... Cleverly would have Froch tiring though!

Think he is the man to expose Bute's padded record. Doubt Bute could even live with Ward.

Foch was made to look ordinary against Ward but I think it should be remembered that he still marked him up and gave him more problems than most. He is still a top level operator. He finished strong against Ward having been clipped countless times.

Surely cleverly deserves a little bit of credit, think his style would be made for froch but it wouldn't be an easy nights work. Cleverly gets more stick on here than any other boxer, just can't see where it comes from, he's a true professional. He's not the finished article but I don't think he's ever stated he is.

Froch doesn't have to prove anything. But if he wanted to, his next three fights should be DeGale, Kessler and Ward.

Degale won't go anywhere near Froch and neither should he, Froch would ruin him.

... Cleverly was given no chance of beating Bellew by some on here too.

Froch trades on his toughness, heart and determination ... the myths of his great skills and dynamite punch have been blown out of the water ... Cleverly would be too busy and fast, and would bust Froch up..

Its all opinion ... Fingers crossed Nathan and Carl can be made.
