i think these are far too expensive especially when you think of the crowds i his last fight up here...it was mainly because of the prices im sure many people were saying

You've failed to factor in the competitivity of the fight. TBA can always be relied upon to put in a decent performance.

I'd wait until the allegedly ticket giveaway before actually paying out for tickets.

if its braehead is 4000 i think...kelvin hall is 2000+

They are decent prices to be fair, but people won't pay for Burns vs Afro-bum

I'd worry about buying a ticket before the opponent is known myself...

i go to all the Burns fights and have done for quite some time BUT....
the fights in Braehead Arena are awful, Overpriced, No Atmosphere, 2 poor opponents there previously and Braehead Arena itself hasn't got the best transport links etc for getting there/home.

Awful venue in my opinion, i will probably go if there is a decent opponent but won't be wasting my £££'s if its a poor opponent.

It will basically be the same as the Motherwell show with Crolla boxing Burns instead of Limond. I know John Simpson is boxing for a Super Bantamweight Intercont belt or a masters title. Then youl get the usual , Thain, Simmons, Roberts, Brophy, maybe Appleby.

The venue Braehead is terrible to get to, the public transport aint the best. I wish it was at Kelvinhall that generates a better atmosphere. I was at the Burns/Martinez fight and it was electric.

Appleby should be on the bill, heard rumours there trying to get Walsh rematch.

Is Braehead the old SEC? That was always dead. Kelvin Hall is great though, just a bit small. Still, better to ram a small hall and turn people away than have a half- full big hall IMO. Sell outs result in bigger sell outs, people become more interested, genuine public demand

Thats the reason Rickys had his last 2 fights away, in my opinon. He's had poor crowds over at Braehead. Its looks very poor for us Scots, that we dont get out in ur numbers to back our only world champion!!! When, we pull out all the stops for such a rotten national football side. Ricky seems to be left at the side lines, when it comes to suporting him. Shamefull, when you look at the crowd that boxing shows down south pull in ( Liverpool, Manchester, London, etc). The kelvin hall, is a great venue! His promoter, like most of them always want more, n more. Bigger venuse, more ppl, and higher ticket prices. The thing is, now! With this channel. Most ppl will, sit in and watch this fight to save money. This makes it even harder for Ricky, to pull ppl into the venue.

No the braehead is the arena in the shopping centre on the way to Paisley, west Glasgow.

Scottie 'too hottie' Harrison used to pack it out.

Kelvin Hall is brilliant though, characterful and central and nice bars around it - ideal.

used to like the braehead , decent if its packed great view from anywhere in there

Ta. I liked the Kelvin. Covered Gary Jacobs-Del Bryan there if my shite memory serves me at all. Definitely been there though and a nice hall with a good atmosphere. Good size for someone in Ricky's position too. Ram it out, make his next few fights must see events that are hard to get tickets for. People want what they can't have. His popularity would come on in leaps and bounds IMO and he would deserve it.

The ticket prices are sheer madness . Regardless of the opponent this will not sell well purely because there are no £30 tickets . In these days of recession to ask for £40 as a minimum just beggars belief . I think that Ricky's fights were taken away from Braehead because of the poor attendance against the unknown Norweigan guy . I also believe that the promoter simply wouldn't accept the argument that he had priced himself out of a good crowd .
I have no experience with this but I understand that the promoters , in general , use the live gate to pay for all the expenses like hiring the hall , paying the boxers etc and take the TV money as profit for themselves . Therefore logic dictates that the promoter must take in enough at the gate to pay all of this expense or they have to use part of their 'profit ' from TV to cover it . But charging a minimum of £40 ensures that they'll have to dig deep because the crowd will be poor .I'm sorry for being pessimistic but this is just how I see it .
Bear in mind that the final cost for the punter is not just the £40 . There are no houses within walking distance of Braehead so they will have to pay for transport . If they buy a programme or even 1 pint we're now over £50 .
When people are struggling financially is this the time to maximise ticket prices ? C'mon guys get real !!

i think 40 starting price is bit steep too but i can imagine if he may be basing a crowd on the return of scott harrison as maybe bringing in quite a few extra bodies

he should fill it with fighters from different areas in scotland it it may sell better

some west coast vs East coast fights

Kevin Mcintyre vs either Gary young or Gary Mcmillan would be good sell as Kevin brings decent crowd.

even if he makes Burns Vs Mitchell im sure Mithcell would bring decent crowd also

IF it's Burns v Mitchell...then it's a legit fight....worth the payment...
