Yep. Would be delighted to see this. Decent name, coming off a good win and a step up for Clev.

He looked awful in his last fight but at least it is a name

I'm not sure how relevant the win is against Kariz Kariuki is, he'd already been KO'd five times fighting mainly in Australia and we already know Miranda has a big punch but he got mugged by Abraham and looked finished against Bute.

Saying that I'd like to see how Cleverley deals with a hard slugger

Respectable enough fight for Cleverly to take, in my opinion.

Certainly a bit of a step up for Clev but I'd expect a UD for the lad.

Good name for his record.

highlights the poor standard of some 'world' champions when an opponent with 6 loses is deemed a 'step up' ... :-?

I'd like to see this fight. It would be a tough fight for Cleverly against a puncher and is a lot better an opponent than some of the dross thats being bandied about in the rumour mill.

Wouldn't happen. If it did, wheelbarrows at the ready for Miranda KO

Edison Miranda would knock paper champ Cleverly unconscious. Cleverly takes punches & doesn't hit hard - the perfect ingredients to create Edison Miranda's 'splatter supreme' dish.

Is it a step up though? I think Bellew would beat Miranda fairly comfortably

Miranda hasn't looked that good for quite a while now. If loaded_gloves is overhand_right then it's no surprise he'd think Cleverly will get knocked out as i'm sure what happened to Howard Eastman is still fresh in his mind

I'd expect Cleverly to stop him by the halfway point. I'm sure he would be wary of his power the same way he was with Bellew though (who I agree, should also beat Miranda). I suppose it is a recognisable name though with a high chance of a stoppage one way of the other so better than what has previously been suggested.

What would people prefer Maccarinelli or Miranda? I'd go with Enzo

Careful - FWP and BN reps read these boards and before long your throwaway comment will be being reported as "huge internet clamour for an amazing domestic dust up"

Good fight in my opinion, with the exception of Despaigne, Miranda tends to KO fighters just short of the highest level, so it would be a nice measuring stick to see where NC stands.

I don't think it would be a big step up for Cleverlly (shock horror).

I saw him beat Joey Vegas when he was on top of his game and even though he ko'd Vegas he had pretty much lost every round before then with Vegas easily getting against the ropes and landing clean punches. If Joey was a better boxer he would of been able to easily beat Miranda on points.

Since then and before then Miranda has fought a mixture of world level fighter and come up well short or beaten no one of any real note. The guy who he beat on Saturday seemed to be beating Miranda on points and was just not clever enough or has a good enough chin to beat Miranda (he had been fighting at lower weights until recently, and even them were no real good fights). Then if you look at Cleverly's record it shows that he fought Vegas very early in his career and he also beat him.

Then you have to ask yourself has Miranda got a better record than Murat or Branclion when Cleverly beat them? As far as I can see he hasn't he has just fought the better boxers but lost badly to them.

The only test will be his power but that was the same against Bellew and Cleverly proved he could avoid big punches or prove that he has a chin to take them.

Miranda is no Light heavyweight. He would surely be dwarfed by Cleverly.

I watched the fight and although he won, he also looked dreadful. If the other guy was a decent fighter Miranda would have been knocked out.

Clev would batter him all round the ring for me.

Whilst I agree, I would think this would be an acceptable match up for a champion still learning / developing.

Edison Miranda, whilst not tall, is a HUGE drainer, even at light heavyweight. He'd outweigh Cleverly, no doubt.

I just watched the fight and Miranda was awful. His opponent who had the worst footwork i've seen in a while got brave and started trading with Edison as he had been comprehensively out boxing him.
It would be a good move for Cleverly as he might go back to his boxing rather than trying to brawl if he's in against a fighter with lights out power. A step down from Bellew as far as quality though a step up in name recognitoin.

I don't know him personally, but remember him not complaining about making Middleweight too much. I think the reason why his rematch with AA was catchweight was as much about Abraham as it was for Miranda.

Since he has moved up to Light Heavyweight I feel his physique has changed considerably. He seems to have bulked up, but on alot of mass in his up body - but I aint sure its helped his progression.

Miranda weighed 175 lbs against Allan Green for their catchweight bout at 162 lbs. He then weighed 173 lbs against Pavlik. By all accounts, he weighs in the 190s now up at light heavyweight. I don't think Clevery will dwarf him.

As far as the fight goes, it's an intriguing one. Miranda really can bang. I wonder whether Cleverly would do his usual and try to pressure Miranda. He might get hurt doing that.

You are starting to get boring as eff now.
Why?

Cleverly is a paper champ in the old FW mould. Guys like him who are hyped up and presented to casual boxing fans as 'world champions' when they hold a paper title won against a scrub, without factoring as a leading fighter in the division in any way, frankly disgust me.

I thought this tradition had died out when promoters twigged they had to put on real fights in today's scene to survive. Obviously it hasn't... it's still alive and well in its mission to confuse fans and ruin boxing

All I am doing is giving my fight predictions like everyone else. It's a boxing board.

If Cleverly was put in with Miranda, it would definitely go some way towards me revising my views a little.
