Leon williams opponent Tony Conquest has had to pull out and Shane Mcphilbin has been offered the fight instead , will be Live on allegedly channel , I understand Shane has accepted the fight .

How does everyone rate shanes chances ?

Personally believe Shane can knock him out but i think it needs to be early , No slant against shane , ill probably have a ticket off him but i just have my doubts on wether shane can comfortable do 12 rounds at just 3 weeks notice .

Hopefully im wrong and McPhilbin is crowned the New British Cruiserweight champion .

It should be Norton's chance. He was going to be involved in an eliminator anyway.

Can Shane make the weight with so little notice and comfortably or will it be a struggle to get down, could be a decent scrap, possibly a shootout as both can bang.

It's not that easy though is it? Askin is signed to a rival promoter, so is unlikely to be considered for a voluntary defence. 3 weeks notice at this time of the year is gonna be a problem too. McPhilbin can bang a bit, so seems a perfectly fine match to me.

He should still be offered the chance and im sure that he and Hatton would jump at the chance. McPhilbin is a decent enough opponent though can't complain

Shane has a real chance here. Leon williams is sluggish and shane can bomb

shane was offered by the board as he was in training for the fight on the 9th dec which got cancelled. As for is weight he weighed 14'7 yesterday. Also as a boxing fan i agree askin or dickinson should be boxing for the title but then again williams should not of boxed for it first time round really and we dont know what shape they are in shane was trainin for 4 weeks for the fight that got cancelled so he will be in good shape. Also i dont think norton should have a rematch yes i think he won the first fight but he as killed the crusierweight divison in britian and needs a lift.

I wouldn't fancy seeing Norton in with Williams again, Askin or McPhilbin seem better propositions.

Anyone know what happened to Conquest?

They might well, but I'd suspect Askin won't fight Williams for the title unless its mandatory. Two promoters, two different tv channels. Shame, but this is a decent alternative.

People think Rob Norton doesn't deserve a chance at a re-match just because he is boring to watch?? And in the same breath say they think he actually won the fight!!!

I agree Norton is no good for boxing on TV - But boxing is a competitive SPORT, its not WWF wrestling - Norton is horrible to watch but he gets results from it, he does what he does well- the best should be fighting the best regardless of how entertaining they are

How the hell can you say you think he won the 1st fight yet doesn't deserve a rematch??

Like I said regardless of whether it would be enjoyable to watch he DESERVES the chance

But david dolan deserved a rematch after drawing with norton but he never got it. Also norton did not defend is title for 18 months against people who deserved a shot. For me if people think he won it or not he needs to get in line now.

Its a better fight than the original Conquest v Williams but this should not be for British title. I presume the winner of this will fight Conquest untill they have to fight Askin.

I disagree partially. Yes, Dolan deserved a rematch - but then Dolan lost to Dunstan (I don't like encouraging 40's somethings in the ring, but I do hope Terry is looking at the mess that is the domestic Cruiserweight devision and considering a comeback).

Also, surely it was up to the BBBoC to strip Norton. 18 months without a defense is rediculous - but why didn't the BBBoC enforce something stronger - lets not forget the inactivity of Herbie Hide had something to do with Norton's own inactivity - he was down as mandatory.

The BBBoC didn't strip Norton (like they didn't strip Danny Williams after a similar period of inactivity in defending his title) - it aint Norton's fault.

yes i agree they should of striped but my point is norton should fight again against a top oppenet before fighting for the title again. shane, askin, conquest and dickinson have all been active and deserve a shot before norton if norton beats one of them or another top fighter then i agree he should fight for the title again

I'll agree to disagree, not when a fighter is blind robbed like Norton was, there should have been an immediate enforced rematch. Yes, there should have been for Norton vs Dolan (Dolan won that fight for me) - but two wrongs etc.
