Smart move by Vanzie...

Bobby Vanzie warms up for his British lightweight title rematch with Graham Earl in Edinburgh on March 27 when he faces Sheffield's tricky and capable Tony Montana this Friday on the Woods-Johnson bill in Sheffield (six rounds).
He said: "This is my final chance to get sharp before the Earl fight. Montana's a Brendan Ingle fighter so I may have to run after him, but I have to look good to take some momentum into the Earl fight next month."
Montana has faced some useful men and is almost guaranteed to go the distance, especially on home turf, so this is a smart move by Vanzie. Inactivity affected him in the first Earl fight, and getting in a hard six-rounder now gives him a better chance of beating Earl next month.

Definately a good move by Vanzie, he needs to be as sharp as possible... I'm sure that long lay offs are a contributary factor behind his recent slippage of form... though I think he was robbed against Earl he wasn't at his best. I feel for Vanzie he's seen a lot of inferior fighters get world title and Europeon title shots over the years while he's been left hanging around and avoided and getting older.... you get the feeling that his face doesn't fit with some people!.

Tony Montana?
There has got to be a gag in there somewhere?
Wasn't that the name of the wedding singer at one of "The Godfather" movies?

It was the name of Al Pacino's lead character in Scarface. Just hope this doesn't mean that if he loses a decision to Vanzie he won't bury his head in a mountain of coke before emerging with a machine gun and mowing down everyone in the arena
