Honeyghan wins. He can live with the tough guys but alos brings some good boxing skills. He can tear up the more cultured foes like McCrory.

My guess is he beats Cuevas or Quartey in the final.

I agree...the peak Honeyghan , which is from the time he kayoed Gianfranco Rosi with one punch in Italy in 1985 up until he kayoed Gene Hatcher in 40 seconds in 1987.....would outbox Mcrory and possibly stop him.

He would outbox Margarito and Cuevas by dancing on his toes.....early on in the tournament he would pick up his only loss to Mayorga who has an incredible chin at his best, and would meet Llloyd head on in the ring, and force honeyghan to either box on the back foot which he could do well or go into slugger mode which would be a mistake against Mayorga.....as despite honeyghans big punch Mayaorga at his best would walk through his shots.....people forget Ricardos letting felix trinidad have 10 free shots on his face permanently altered his once iron chin....and only the best welters like ODLH and Mosley went on to brutally kayo him....Mayorga would win a clear 12 round decision and at the end Honeyghan is hanging on....Mayorga wouldnt fare well against Margarito or Cuevas or Quartey and thus the final would see Honeyghan v Quartey........I think Honeyghan builds up an early lead and nullifies Ikes superior jab by staying on his toes and moving in and out.......

If we had been discussing the reckless ill disciplined in the ring Honeyghan of his 1988-1989 title reign he wouldnt make it past it past any of these guys......Ive rarely seen a guy go from being on top to being total shot as quickly as honeyghan

I also like Honeyghan here, I see him beating Cuevas in the final.
