Holyfield wins by surviving early on and breaking Tyson down late.

A prime Tyson is too much for Holyfield. I'd see the body attack as key, mainly the left hook. If you look at Holyfields waist it's tiny for a HW, it's more like that of a LHW. And even though Tyson never had the best stamina, he would best Holyfield here.

Can you point to a fight where Tyson has issued a sustained body attack? Or a fight where Holyfield has shown vulernabilities to a body attack?
Holyfield has always been too strong internally for Tyson, he was as a light heavy when he sparred with Tyson in the 84 Olympics, when he stood up to him when Tyson was throwing his weight around at the pool table in the Olympic village, he was too strong for him in 91, 96, and any other year.
A big guy without a great chin like Lewis or Bowe are a great match up with a peak Tyson, but Holyfield is too much of a warrior.

Holyfield takes a decision in a fight that actually is a fight of the year candidate. Tyson knew Evander was too much man.

A close fight, but I would have Tyson winning it.

Back in 91 i was one of the minority that was convinced that Evander would box Tyson's head off, whilst others laughed at that idea stating that Evander was too small ect ect. On reflection i don't think it's the case of being too small it's more the case of the warrior in Evander that would see him get wiped out & that opinion is in obvious hindsight with regard to Smokin Burt Cooper coming within a whisker of stopping Holyfield.
I attended both Tyson/Holyfield fights at the MGM in 96 & 97 & the size/shape of Holyfield in comparison too his will "O" the wisp physique for a heavyweight when he beat Douglas was frightening. In hindsight i now can't envisage Holyfield somehow overcoming a rampant 91 or pre 91 Tyson all due to tactics & ability too withstand a prolonged Tyson assault. If Cooper could hurt Holyfield then Tyson's going to destroy him once he's got the opening & the opening would be down too as we all know Evanders warrior mentality in wanting to engage toe 2 toe & he never had the tools or the strength IMO to withstand a prime Tyson.

since tyson is 4 years younger than holyfield we saw what would happen anyway. evander has always had the mental bluff on tyson going back to the amatuer days. real deal tko in 11
