Yep, found myself nodding away to all of that as I read it. In more generic terms, I'm just hoping to rekindle my love affair with the sport as it reached an all-time low in 2011 I'm sad to say. A step in the right direction would be a series of matches between Macklin, Barker, Lee and Murray - echoes of the Benn, Watson, Eubank, Collins era...

On the domestic front I definitely want to see Price moved quicker, Cleverley face some live opponents to ascertain his true level, Bomber to continue to build on his great showing against Clev and also some interesting match-ups at super-middle for Groves, Degale and Anderson. Finally, looking forward to seeing who Kell Brook faces in 2012.

On the world stage I'd love to see how Golovkin and Pirog progress at middleweight as both have a lot of potential IMO. Bute vs Ward is a must and Bute is the only one I can see giving Ward trouble at this stage. I'd also love to see Gamboa move up to face off against someone like Marquez. Mayweather vs Martinez is unlikely, but I'd see that as a far more competitive fight than Mayweather vs Manny, where I can only really see a wide UD for Floyd.

I was happy with what we got domestically last year, with Groves-Deagle,Bellew-Cleverly,Murrey-Mitchell and Chisora-Fury all happening which would not have happened in other years.Barker,Froch and Haye all had fights against the best in their division. What i want for this year is Brook to win a world title,Froch to beat Kessler in Notingham and Haye to beat Vitlal.I also hope the Olympians can win some medals especially Joshua because everyone loves a Heavyweight and it would be a huge boost for British boxing

Khan to admit his failings against Peterson and knuckle down and work on them before it's too late.

Khan to be more humble
Froch to get beat again
Mitchell to win a world title
Any fight involving two of Murray, Macklin and Barker (a world title on the line would be a bonus)
Chisora to put up a good display against Vitali (but ultimately lose)....
Because I'd like to see Haye fight Vitali (and win)
Any combination of Murray, Burns and Rees fight each other.
DeGale to get beat by anyone (Preferably Groves again)
Groves to step up
Price to beat Fury
Cleverly to unify
Bellew to get a shot at a title
Rendall Munroe to win a world title (unlikely imo but he's always in the gym so credit to him for that)
Dave Darts to get fired
Adam Smith, when commentating, to talk about the action in the ring

Call me crazy but I'd love to see Herbie Hide vs Tony Bellew at cruiser.

I've heard the talk that Bellew struggles to make light-heavy. I've no idea how true that is, but he's a big lad and he looks like he has the frame of a cruiserweight to me...

Anyway, Herbie came out for Prizefighter, and the money and opportunity for winning that surely wouldn't be anything like it would be for beating Bellew? I know Prizefighter opens doors, but not that long ago Hide was highly ranked by the WBC and I think I remember seeing that he'd been paired with Rob Norton in a British title eliminator that's never going to happen.

If he beats Bellew in a close one then the re-match could well be on offer. Failing that, a fight with Leon Williams would be great but I don't think they'd take it voluntarily?

On Bellew's side, Hide is a name that the British sports public (not just boxing fans) know. It'd be a high profile fight and would be a great scalp to get back on track with. Hide is old now and didn't look to have much left in Prizefighter. He might be a reasonably safe opponent - the risk/reward might be right.

Added to that, it'd be a ridiculously brilliant press conference. Plus it would probably sell out the Echo Arena.... AND it might turn out to be an absolute barnburner - an Ezra Sellers vs Alex Stewart type thing. I mean that's not guaranteed, but I wouldn't bet against it.

It's got a lot going for it.

Failing that, I wouldn't mind seeing Bellew vs Maccarinelli at light-heavy, it could produce fireworks an they're both really good blokes.

One other fight I'd really like to see this year is John Murray vs Ben Murphy at lightweight. I'm not sure it's fair on John to throw him into another war like that, but those are the sort of fights he seems to like and Ben would suit him. He'd be there right in front of him the whole time. For Murphy, it would be the sort of high profile fight that he deserves after the great performance against Theophane. These two could produce a great fight.

I don't just want to see the best fight the best, I want to see the right fights made stylewise. We need more clever and perceptive matchmaking. I've never bought into this belief that the public only want unbeaten fighters and superstars. I think what they want is exciting fights between evenly matched fighters or between guys with big personalities that can create a bit of interest and give people taalking points.

One ingredient that is essential for good fights to happen is an end to premature stoppages. A boxer's safety is the number one priority, of course it is, and no-one wants to see a guy take a beatdown when he's effectively out of the fight.

That said, if refs keep stopping fights too early then it removes all of the excitement - and the potential drama of a guy who's hurt staging a Matthew Saad Muhammed style comeback.

There is a fine line and it is better to be on the safe side. In my opinion we've gone too far that way and it's hurting the sport.

I'd prefer Price - Fury to Audley.
