Carl Froch, who proclaimed last month: "I will definitely stop Tony Dodson", is now seemingly distancing himself from those words.
Today he said: "There have been things in the papers that I am supposed to have come out with, but I never said them.
"I don't normally pay much attention, but it's a bit naughty really. I can't see the point in it."
Dodson had refused to engage in a slanging match, simply stating: "They say the emptiest can make the most noise. He's talking out of pure fear."
Froch does seem somewhat agitated. He turned his attention today to Dodson's training stint in America under Steve Collins.
"He will come back from America tired and jet-lagged," said Froch.
"The Americans will beat him up in sparring.
"And what is he going to learn in such a short space of time from Collins? I think he's left it a bit late to be honest.
"I'm going to tick over for a week and just do a bit of running. Then I'll step things up a bit closer to the date."
Froch admitted he was hoping for a better workout against Russian opponent Dimitry Adamovich in Dagenham on Friday, who went out in the second.
"He gave Robin Reid half a scrap but I just demolished him," he said.
"I thought he would be more durable.
"He was down twice in the first round, which I thought unusual. I'm obviously just punching too hard."

Hmmmm... I ve got some doubts about Froch... great talent definately but talks the talk so much that you wonder whether some of it is to boost himself up a little... I can imagine that he's under a lot of pressure after all the plaudits he's been given. His left hand worries me a lot... he's far too easy to hit and if he doesn't watch it will run into trouble sooner or later. He should beat Dodson but the fact that he's the under dog will help Dodson I think... it's going to be interesting. I think training in America should only help Dodson and perhaps Carl is a bit worried about this... why isn't he getting any experience training there?.... bad move!...

Very perceptive mate, I think that aswell. I'd be surprised if he's got as much faith in himself as he makes out.

Reid used the fight as a tune up to practice a few things, what would he have gained from bombing the kid out in just over a round? Sweet fornicate all.

Froch admitted himself he let the occasion get the better of him in with Monaghan (last time in Nott'm)..........with an even bigger fight I'm sure he'll feel the pressure. Dodson is expected to lose, he's got nothing to lose.

Yes,Ive been in Dodson's position,Froch will have to be careful here.Froch is for real,I've trained with him,but it dont mean so much when someones all out to spoil your party.Froch will be tested this time but I think he'll pass.Lets hope they dont try to move him on too fast or it will surely go pear shaped !!!

Dodson strikes me as the sort of fighter that thrives when he is the under dog and the pressure of expectation is not on him... remember how he beat that guy Barboza who Magee wouldn't face... if Dodson can recapture that form (which I don't think he has since that fight) then there could be a upset!.....

I've trained with him many a time, what do you mean "for real"?

I spoke to Froch after his last fight, and he seemed relatively unconcerned about how he won.

I think the fact that Doson is training with Steve Collins would unsettle all but the most iron clad ego.

Like i stated b4 Dimitry Adamovich DID NOT thorw punches back so what did we learn?

I believe Froch will stop Dodson, on cuts.

I think Froch will get on his bike against Dodson..out box and eventually stop the guy. I think Froch has suffered from Ricky Hatton syndrome of late(just trying to walk through his opponents)...instead of using the footwork and skills that he showed us in the Am`s. If Froch uses his head he will have a fairley straight forward victory..but if he doesnt he will struggle...but either way i think Frotch will be victorious.

Well i for one will be glad when this fight is over! All the chattering from various camps and differing opinions on the outcome i cannot wait to just get it out of the way and then pick up the pieces afterwards, i pick Froch to win though just for the record :)
