Can things get any worse??

With all due respect there is plenty to be excited about in British boxing right now. We might not have many 'world' champions but I think we've got a lot of things to look forward to going into 2012.

I dont see what the TS does, and im sure most fans dont.

Froch may have lost to Ward but he also won 5-6 absolute world class matches in a row and gave us a tremendous run..... Khan will be back and he has given us excitement.....Im interested in seeing Chisora fight a Klicthko....we have 3 good level Middleweights capable of improving ....Degale/Groves/Brook are very good prospects....if the scene is only good if we have the absolute top boxers in their weight classes in the world....well its been a while since we had more than 1 or 1-2 of those at a time during a decade...we had lewis and naz briefly in the 90s....we had calzaghe and lewis and briefy hatton in the 2000s...even during the so called benn/eubank/collins golden days those 3 were actually very good exciting champions in the case of collins and eubanks a good level below the absolute best 2-3 at their weight class...yet we still have fantastic memories etc of them and their reigns.....for example i really enjoyed clinton woods reign but he was always the third best LH even as champ....thats enough for most fans......right now in 2012 things r looking good....the middleweights will rebound......so will khan and froch....Mitchell may go on to be the world class we hoped he could....

At the moment the British boxing scene is very healthy you seem to be taking the worst possible view of the situation . Burns especially would probably beat any LW in the world atm(ignoring Rios and Marquez because they are unlikely to fight at the weight). Macklin, Murray and Barker could all very easily become world champions within the next year. Cleverly will obviously fight nobodies for the next year, but will still remain world champion. Froch got beaten by a P4P top 10 fighter and Carl is in the trouble of being in the hardest division in boxing at the moment, although he could very easily win a won title next year. Chisora isn't a no hoper against Vitali he probably will lose, but he has more chance than Adamek did! Kell Brook will continue on his road to superstardom next year and will deffinetly hold a world title by the end of the year. Khan will probably get a rematch with Peterson and will most likely win that as he is a much better fighter than he showed last time out. Ola Afolabi(technically British) will be getting a world title shot within next 6 months providing Huck moves up to fight Povetkin therefore he has a massive opportunity. Ashley Theophane, Ryan Rhodes, Kevin Mitchell, John Murray, Tyson Fury, Tony Bellew, James Degale, George Groves, Gavin Rees, Paul McCloskey, Jamie McDonnell will all stay or move into European title contention and a few may even push onto a world title shot next year. All in all the British scene is extremly healthy at the moment and we could really go through a bit of a purple patch with our elite boxers. Britain could easily have 10 world champions by the end of the year for a country the size of Britain i'd say that is a fantastic achievement!
