BROOK’S OPPONENT VOWS TO CRASH KELL’S SHEFFIELD PARTY
Rival plans to down Kell at March 17 Steel City showdown
Kell Brook’s opponent for their huge Sheffield showdown on March 17 has warned Brook that he is coming to spoil the party.
“It's a massive fight. Kell has been getting a lot of exposure from Sky and a lot of boxing experts rate him highly,” said the mystery man. “He is a big hit in Sheffield but going and fighting someone on away turf doesn't bother me, I feel very confident that I can travel to Sheffield and beat him on his home patch."
There's lots more of it too

All a bit silly if you ask me
Brook is the most over-rated british boxer in recent memory, don't get me wrong he has good skills and would probably beat anyone outside the top 10 welterweight division but i don't see anything special at all about him in any way and he has never beaten a world class opponent and has been very carefully matched. Matthew Hatton is another one of those average guys who is made to measure for him to look good against.-KOKid- wrote:Captain Hook wrote:It's Hatton, at least everyone says it is......yet today we received a press release full of quotes from his opponent, without them naming who the opponent is!! Don't hink anyone besides a promoter would call Brook vs. M. Hatton a "massive fight"![]()
It won't mean much outside the UK.
Then again, Eddie Hearn is a promoter.
I just didn't think he was so advanced in the art of hyperbole yet.
My sentiments exactly at the top level Kell will be exposed and made to look very silly. It seems to happen with every Matchroom fighter that wen it comes to beating the best they show they don't have enough in the locker.exittored wrote:Brook is the most over-rated british boxer in recent memory, don't get me wrong he has good skills and would probably beat anyone outside the top 10 welterweight division but i don't see anything special at all about him in any way and he has never beaten a world class opponent and has been very carefully matched. When is Kell actually going to step up and face a dangerous guy? someone like Mike Jones, Brad Solomon, Carson Jones or Selcuk Aydin.
I honestly can't wait till he gets matched with a Top 10 guy and gets exposed for the hype job he is.
Just to add that if you include Hatton, Kells last 4 opponents have a combined loss record of 29 losses which just tells you everything.mbudgen wrote:My sentiments exactly at the top level Kell will be exposed and made to look very silly. No disrespect to Eddie Hearn but it's because he matches them against opponents that make them look a lot better than they actually are.
Naive to look at it that way though, Jackiewcz's losses were all early in his career and he was on a very good run before Kell. N'dou has been matched tough and fought a lot of world class fighters being on the way of some debatable decisions in the process. Galarza was just a keep busy fight which you can't really read too much into and Hatton is a good top 20 WW although i was hoping for a better opponent it will sell well and get Kell more vital exposure. What better fight is it possible for Kell to get at the moment?exittored wrote:Just to add that if you include Hatton, Kells last 4 opponents have a combined loss record of 29 losses which just tells you everything.mbudgen wrote:My sentiments exactly at the top level Kell will be exposed and made to look very silly. I just added that last bit on to my main argument so no it wasn't naive as i know N'dou and Jackiewcz well and they're both average boxers now at this stage of their career and pick up losses because they're beatable and in Jacks case because he fights bums now.Camcas wrote:Naive to look at it that way though, Jackiewcz's losses were all early in his career and he was on a very good run before Kell. Yeah, and when he does, will he make a complete fool of himself by crying like a toddler til he gets what he wants like your man Amir?exittored wrote:Brook is the most over-rated british boxer in recent memory, don't get me wrong he has good skills and would probably beat anyone outside the top 10 welterweight division but i don't see anything special at all about him in any way and he has never beaten a world class opponent and has been very carefully matched. So on the one hand you're criticising paper records for being the product of hype and careful matchmaking - and then in the next breath you point out defeats on opponents records! Defeats on a record don't make you a bad fighter - they don't necessaril mean anything - Sugar Ray Robinson lost 19 times, Julio Cesar Chavez lost six times, De La Hoya lost six times, Muhammad Ali lost five times.exittored wrote:Just to add that if you include Hatton, Kells last 4 opponents have a combined loss record of 29 losses which just tells you everything.mbudgen wrote:My sentiments exactly at the top level Kell will be exposed and made to look very silly. i think you mean a different Amir that i'm connected to, I don't have any connection to Amir Khan or am particulary a fan but Kell dosen't belong in the same sentence as him till he actually achieves something more then beating bums.danfoster wrote:Yeah, and when he does, will he make a complete fool of himself by crying like a toddler til he gets what he wants like your man Amir?exittored wrote:Brook is the most over-rated british boxer in recent memory, don't get me wrong he has good skills and would probably beat anyone outside the top 10 welterweight division but i don't see anything special at all about him in any way and he has never beaten a world class opponent and has been very carefully matched. Go on then, explain what it is that you've seen that makes convinced he' so poor. Seriously, make some valid comments regarding his weaknesses - be interesting to see what you thinkexittored wrote:i think you mean a different Amir that i'm connected to, I don't have any connection to Amir Khan or am particulary a fan but Kell dosen't belong in the same sentence as him till he actually achieves something more then beating bums.danfoster wrote:Yeah, and when he does, will he make a complete fool of himself by crying like a toddler til he gets what he wants like your man Amir?exittored wrote: Brook is the most over-rated british boxer in recent memory, don't get me wrong he has good skills and would probably beat anyone outside the top 10 welterweight division but i don't see anything special at all about him in any way and he has never beaten a world class opponent and has been very carefully matched. Kell is nothing but a hype job, it's actually sad that him and Eddie Munster have convinced people he is by feeding the public bum after bum for him to fight.
I never said he was poor, infact i stated he has good skills and would probably beat anyone outside the Top 10 welterweight division...he just isn't outstanding or has that wow factor in any department whether it be defence, offence, hand or foot speed. I just don't like fighters or promoters telling me how special they are all the time and then continue to fight another inferior fighter...when is he going to step up and fight someone like Mike Jones especially as Bob Arum has already said he'd accept the fight instantly.danfoster wrote:Go on then, explain what it is that you've seen that makes convinced he' so poor. You can guarantee that on every Kell Brook thread, exittored will appear singing his same old song. At least he has refrained from bringing Kell's mother into it this time.exittored wrote:Brook is the most over-rated british boxer in recent memory, don't get me wrong he has good skills and would probably beat anyone outside the top 10 welterweight division but i don't see anything special at all about him in any way and he has never beaten a world class opponent and has been very carefully matched.
