Price/McDermott - Anyone know?

Curious about the distance, thought final eliminators were 12 rounds but apparently this is now for the English Heavyweight title which are
fought over 10 rounds, hopefully FTM can set the record straight and let us know the distance.

Good fight though and should tell us a lot about where both men go, fancy Price but John hits hard enough to get the job done if landing clean and often.

Even FTM has written big John off in this fight which suprises me. Everything he says is about Price fighting Fury. I personally think its slightly disrespectful

No one Apart from hardcore fans will know when warren fighters are fighting as it's on a subscription only boxing channel! Watched by audience of under 20000!

Being on a boxIng only channel is good for hardcore fans to be a big name you need the general public to buy into the fighter hatton, haye. Since I subscribed on December allegedly been very poor January not good either!

I do think price could have been moved quicker but that's down to his promotor.

Realise FTM gave the answer above that the fight is 12 rounds can I just ask if its still 12 rounds as I notice a couple of the bookies have changed the fight to a 10 round fight
and only offering prices upto round 10, noticeably one of them is Skybet and they obviously have a connection with the covering channel.

Could FTM just confirm its still 12 rounds.

'I do think price could have been moved quicker but that's down to his promotor.'

I don't think it's down to anyone other than bad luck to be honest.

If Price had of fought Big John back when it was first due to kick off and beaten him, then we'd be looking at Fury v Price now. Which if it goes ahead and appears on Channel 5, it'll catapult Price right up there popularity wise, within the UK, because I think he'll knock Fury out in a good fight watched by millions. People always love a good heavyweight and Price certainly has potential.

Will Fury fight Price for the British Title? I seriously doubt it. Instead, I think Fury will vacate. Only time will tell.

Just speculation so far though as Big Bad John stands in his way, you never know. Price has had the injury holding him back and that could factor if the fight is a tough contest going past 7-8 rounds. We've not seen how Price takes a big shot yet either. John could win this one with bodyshots.

Cracking fight I'm looking forward to watching with a good few mates. Hope it is a 12 rounder ;)

Totally agree it's davids hardest test, I hope John gives him he'll being a basildon boy myself, but I fear David will land a mega straight right adventually :yay:

FTM - the first Big John / Fury fight (the one that Big John won) was over ten.

As I understand, it was Terry O'Connor's ridiculous scoring that caused the board to rule three judges must be used for the english title. The second fight was over 12.

MachoMan09 wrote:Frank, it was interesting that during the press conference you said that Tyson Fury had built his career to date fighting bums, whilst your fighter, Price, has been learning his craft. If you compare the win/loss/draw data of the two lads' respective opponents you'll find that Fury's opponents' combined record is 254-143-13, including Dereck Chisora, Pajkic, and the man Price is facing next week, McDermott (are those three bums?); Price's opponents' record is 119-118-3 - his best opponent being his sparring partner, Dallas, at very short notice.

I'm not saying who I think is the better fighter, Fury or Price, but I am questioning your barbed comments and whether they were accurate and fair.
He actually had the nerve to say this. Insulting Fury's level of opposition whilst serving up pregnant Latvians for Price. He should be embarassed!

McDermott looked better than normal at the weigh-in. He's clearly worked very hard for this fight.

McDermott knows if he loses this badly its the end for him as far as boxing is concerned. I think if he gets through the first few big right hands from Price he has a chance of winning, but i have an inkling that Price will get him out early.

McDermott is a disgrace. I cannot believe a professional athlete would present himself in that physical state. He makes me gip.

Would you all think I was a nutcase if I told you that I'd got money on a McDermott stoppage win?

You'd rather look at big Larry's chisled pecs, no doubt. :P

McDermott's always fit and in fighting condition. That's all that matters in this game.
