Hi guys spoke to Clinton after training and he said to me he's selling all his world championship gloves/ shorts/ robes also his eropean ones to and commonwealth, only the ones he's keeping are glen Johnson winning ones, Roy jonesjnr and also crawford Ashley I told him am on boxrec and will give ur guys a post see if any interest

The ones I mentioned he would never sell. he says as there in frames, he just said he wants to sell them there's loads and in suitcasers, just fort I would let u guys no

What is Clinton up to theses days ??

He's got his own gum now training pros I also train there, it is very busy! Clinton is a great man so down to earth you wouldn't fink he was worldchampion got time for everyone.

Has always come across as a great bloke Clinton, as you say, down to earth and very genuine !!

Always enjoyed watching Clinton fight, but against the likes of Glen Johnson it was a white knuckle ride at times lol.

I will do pal, it's at Westfield were Clinton grew up yes he's had some good wars I like the Clemerson fight were Clinton got put down heavy and got up like it was nothing I feel Clinton don't get the credit he deserves British commonwealth eropean world champion from nothing is inspiring!

Yeah someone asked me on here who i thought was the most under-rated British boxer of recent memory and i'd have to say it was Clinton Woods who definately dosen't get the respect he deserves.

Can you tell Clinton to come on here, would be cool to have a chat with him and get his thoughts on a few things like RJJ and his thoughts on Tavouris Cloud who i'm a big supporter of and touted him years ago to be world champion.

Yeah, i think he is very under-rated was Clinton, quite similar to Johnny Nelson in that respect. Clinton wasn't blessed with the greatest skills, but he worked hard on his development and went way beyond what anyone thought he would. Had some good fights and fought some top opponents like Jones, Tarver and Johnson.

Has he got prices on the stuff he's selling?

Well he didn't really say but name a price and will show him I will put pictures up soon as I know how to

Technically Clinton is way underrated. Lot of boxers from novices to pros could learn a lot from him in terms of fine footwork, defence and punching (especially counter-punching); would imo be time better spent than in trying to emulate RJJ, Calzaghe, Froch etc. I understand he came to the game late and only reason I can see that he still managed to rise so far was fact he was a natural, and I don't think people give him credit for that. Also he slips under the radar because he is and was by all accounts a decent down-to-earth guy: he doesn't and didn't need to be anything else because his best fights speak for themselves...was watching one part of one of the Johnson fights recently and it had about 19 views which given the quality of the action is ridiculous.

I am sure that they will sell on e-bay or whatever, but he isn't going to get much money.

Would be better if he donated them to local boxing clubs to give to young boxers or to auction at their shows etc.

Hopefully after all he achieved and 10 world title fights he isn't that skint for acouple of hundred quid.

Agree 100% with this.

Just called him, and yeah, if someone offers him money, he might consider selling, the money helps towards his gym, personally I think stuff like that is part of his history, and he should keep it, but space etc, who knows,
i have soo many posters of fights in the attic, many of Lennox, Watson, Benn etc, never thought of selling them, but if someone offers me dosh, who knows!!...

clinton woods was my hero when i first started as a pro and there s only so much boxin stuff you can keep ie shorts trophy s and stuff i gave all my am trophy s away kept the aba medals and boxin as a pro ya get new stuff for most fight s iv gave most of that away too beside s the point hope he does well from his old stuff

Clinton boxed from 11 0r 12 for Hillsborough boys and was a very tall,thin kid for his weight, a very technical boxer who had an excellent won/lost record as an am junior although never won a national title(was picked for C4'S Henry Coopers golden belt!).Think he had 1 am fight for Brendan then went walkabout for a while before turning pro. I sparred quite alot with Clinton up to his winning his 1st title vs Baker(at 10 days notice) and upto that fight he was good tho not great but the confidence that win gave him sent him to another level. A very,very tough man who was schooled well as a child and improved with every fight till his last.

Good. Why is he selling the stuff then, did he say? Normally people start flogging this sort of stuff off when they are struggling or if they've completely fallen out of love with the game (for whatever reason).

your right macho that is normally the case but that Woods is a tight barsteward and probably needs to renew his caravans insurance or sumat :P
