Who wins and why?

I'd take Ramos by decision (assuming Aragon could make 135), but I'd like to hear kikibalt's (Frank Baltazar's) take on this one since he saw both numerous times in their primes. Frank?

Mando I think was the better all round fighter, But Art was the stronger fighter by far. At 135 I think Mando beats Art by decision, at 140 I see Art as too strong for Mando, at 140 Art by decision.

Art was a good fighter, nothing close to been a great fighter. Very strong and a very good puncher with a BIG heart..And he was a BIG playboy!!...There two or three of his fights on YT....I seen most if not all of his big fights live, starting in 1949 to his last fight 1960.

No, imo he was better then Gatti.

Gatti was a human punching bag Aragon was not.

I remember seeing Art stopped a still very good Enrique Bolanos twice in 1950. The same Enrique Bolanos who would had been lightweight champion had it not been for Ike Williams...Btw I seen all 3 Bolanos/Williams fight live, the first one been in 1946.

Yes, I'd see that fight. I believe it was in early '53. Graham out boxed Art to win the fight. Art had trouble with boxers.

How about Aragon's fights with Don Jordan, Frank? What type of bouts were they?

Both fight in 1955 if memory serves. I remember Aragon as been to strong for a young Jordan in both fights. Arrgon won going away in what were good fights.
