This is a mismatch.

Bruno wins by KO around 3 rounds.

To beat Bruno you had to be good LS wasn't

there have been a fair few Bruno threads recently and its always so difficult to judge Bruno against how he would do against other "contenders" of the 80s and 90s since Bruno had a heavily hyped career in the 1980's of 8 years duration and there were only ever 2 outcomes in any of his fights....he looks a solid boxer with a great jab and great power against inferior unranked guys...and he looks good early against world class foes and ends up losing due to his glass jaw or stamina issues.
The only two anomalies are good wins against gerrie Coetzee and Bugner in that decade....he only really started fighting other contenders in the early 90s in Williams and Pierre Coetzer and bruno was past his best by than. ......so hard to judge how bruno would have done as he so rarely fought other top 15 guys.
I think he takes savarese though

His best wins where in the 90s Williams, McCall and even Pierre Coetzer.

Bugner and Coetzer where washed up when he fought them, they were only names.

I see your point Alan. I just think the sleeker version who fought tyson in 89...the 225 lbs guy was quicker and more fluid. I think the bigger older version of the 90s was too big and his jab was compromised somewhat just that bit slower. There did seem a heck of a lot more talented 80s guys who as the 1990s came round had suddenly been ruined by Tyson,Holy and Foreman and thus became easier fodder.
Bugner may have been washed up from his 70s prime but he was coming off consecutive wins over tillis, bey and greg page. Gerrie coetze was a final eliminator and those 2 wins surpass imo wins ove the less accomplished Pierre coetzer, and a fading williams...although if anyone said his best wins were williams and mccall I couldnt argue with their opinion .The mccall win was impressive and so was the williams one as Frank showed stamina and outjabbed a good jabber. I still think williams of a couple of years before would have taken him

Bruno would knock this guy into next week! Bruno was well underated as a fighter, may not of been a top level fighter, but would of beat anyone just under! Savarese was average at most.

yeah i agree a clash between a young bruno and bugner in eighty three would have been very very interesting. bugner tho being a guy who always tested himself at world level went to the states and lost to shavers and marvis frazier if im right....there was a big difference between bugner than and four years later . anyway i agree bruno takes out savarese much like he did eklund

I was never a Bruno fan, can't explain why. Maybe it was because I was a Lewis fan. I remember on Bruno's greatest night beating Oliver McCall and with everyone in the pub going absolutely nuts I was the only person not cheering. I was f'd off that McCall didn't bloody try. What shambolic performance he offered up that night.

However, Bruno against Savarese is a mismatch. Bruno would take out big Lou inside 2 rounds.
