McCloskey V Katsidis in works

Sorry if posted already but can't see it anywhere. From yesterday’s Sunday Life Newspaper (Northern Ireland): Paul McCloskey / Michael Katsidis in the works for Belfast in March with an International Heavyweight Prizefighter as the undercard including Martin Rogan.
It depends how ‘far gone’ Katsidis is and whether McCloskey can get into his stride more quickly than he did against Prescott - however McCloskey takes a good shot and I think he would do enough to win a narrow points decision.

I don't see the point in this, it won't advance McCloskey in any way if he beats someone who has campaigned at a lower weight all his career and is now considered to be shot.

Not sure this is a good fight for Paul at all to be honest, he likes to pot shot himself from range or pick shots whilst standing still.
Against Katsdidis no matter what he does he is going to have to pick his shots from the back foot as Michael won't stop coming forward all night, I am not convinced he can
work off the back foot as effectively as Burns, in fact I'm sure he can't.
This could all go wrong here for Paul in my book, its not the right fight at all, it does little to forward him on in his career and if he loses which is quite possible (points) it's game over
in terms of a world title shot.

Definitely a risky fight for McCloskey. It's a pick em fight but hard to see how it progresses eithers career particularly.

it'll make mccloskey a fortune. he sells out the oddysey in belfast, or near enough, with 11,000 capacity, no matter who he fights. strange that he's lined up for katsidis though

Bad fight as the Kat is a lightweight so will be stepping up a weight. He needs to fight a live lightwelter

Its definitely a fight that I would be interested in seeing. Dont think Kats can be labelled as "shot" yet.

He might not be completely shot but he certainly isn't the fighter he was at one stage. Been in too many wars and been in the end of a couple of hidings too.

I agree he was very lucky to get the win over Prescott which is maybe why he's being matched with Katsidis. Maybe their thinking he's on the slide but people having been saying that about Katsidis for a while and he's still performing well.

Surprised more havent commented that the McCloskey fight is intended alongside an International PF!! Thats good value in anyones book. Can we expect a 3-4hr Sky Show then??
Be interesting if they put McC on before the final to allow the heavies 45mins - 1hr to catch their breath.

Katsidis has been written off before though... I know its not as if he is in his peak, but McCloskey is going to need to stand him off all night long.

true he was on about moving up to 140, before the burns fight.
mccloskey, however, does seem to fight fairly well known retreads. last time with prescott, he did not win more impressively than mitchell did. this time, can he win more impressively vs katsidis, than did burns, guerrero, marquez, etc?

Think it would be a great fight to watch. I'd pick Katsidis.
