Will Rhodes help hatton prepare for brook ?

If you had to choose one guy to spar with in preparation to fight kell brook it has to be Ryan Rhodes, he has the elusive ingle style and knows kells weaknesses very well, BUT I believe his good friends with both guys, can Ricky get him to help Matthew out or will kell ask for him not to ? OR isn't kell bothered has his sure of victory anyway ? Interesting :box:

Why would he do that? He's one of Kell's best friends.

Gonna be busy preparing for his own fight a week later id imagine
Matthew Hatton will never be ready for Kell no matter who he spars he must be getting a big payday cos he may be negative like he was with alvarez still dont think he will go the distance .Nor would he of that night.if the same alvarez that ryan fought had turned up IMO

Aside from the friendship, Rhodes has a Euro title of his own to prepare for.

I thought he was good friends with hatton too, if his got his own fight coming up he could do with the sparring.

Alvarez probably underestimated hatton just like kell will do to, I think kell wins but in a tougher fight then most people think.

Jessi,
Ryan and Kel go back a long long way and are true friends. Ryan and Matthew are just acquaintances.
Sparring will not happen.

Ryan Rhodes is very different to Kell brook. Kell is fast , sharp and explosive, he uses cat like reflexes to counter his opponenent, does not fight much on the inside, likes to work on the edge of reach and jump in with shots over the top of the jab and back hand. Ryan has a nice tight card, rolls and slips well and works well inside crossing in the meantime, he likes to work mosly out of the South paw stance and sits in the pocket making his opponenent miss and countering him. Just because they both have come from the Ingles gym does not mean they are the same, not all ingles fighters are the same. I don't think Hatton will use Rhodes, he needs speedsters, that's why they have asked Nasser Al Harbi to spar Matthew Hatton in preparation for Brook, I am sure they will bring other quick fighters in, Hatton would be more worried about Kells speed then his power, because Hatton chin is sound and tried and tested at the highest level, Interesting fight.

I thought Alvarez was pedestrian in the Hatton fight never reallty stepped it up at all knew the belt was his never got out of second gear .When he fought ryan he was full on from the get go solid sustained attacks he never underestimated hatton he had his number and coasted the fight to win the belt .With rhodes knowing he had power as well as a chin unlike hatton who is all chin no power he didnt take chances and ryan did well not to get his head took off at times Alvarez was a different man that night not coasting to a title that was already his but defending a title against a tested tough opponent who wanted to take it off him.

Kell will hammer high guard negative back foot hatton im not slagging Matthew Hattons bravery but its time kell did a number on someone decent and im afraid hattons numbers up :TU:

I think the fact that every appearance, Alveraz seems to step up a notch says a lot about the kid.
I think the Alvarez that fought Rhodes had come on a fair distance from the Alvarez that fought Hatton.

I think your rose tinted specs are playing up again, Alvarez is quality and has been for a few years, time wise he did not have time to 'come on' between his fight with Hatton and his fight with Rhodes. Hattons and Rhodes styles are completely different, i just think that Alvarez found Rhodes a bit easier to hit due to Ryans reflexes not being what they were a few years back and hatton holding a back foot guard tighter than Ryans.
Styles make fights......is the cliche we all use. The fact that Rhodes was stopped and Hatton was not was purely down to intent, Rhodes went there wanting and believing he could win, this left him a little open and he got tagged somewhat, Hatton went into the fight Hoping to see the final bell!...and he did.

Incidentally, and because styles make fights...i would pick Ryan Rhodes to beat Matthew Hatton every day of the week!.......Brook too should dismantle Hatton!

We'll have to agree to disagree on that one.
Alvarez prep for Hatton was poor.
Couldn't do the weight etc and didn't have a good training camp.
Alvarez prep for Rhodes fight was brilliant 10 week camp and everything was on the button.
I think he looked a superior fighter in the Rhodes fight.
It's nothing to do with allegiences but I do think he's the real deal although a lot on here don't rate him that highly.
This isn't just a biased Sheffield opinion either, ask Jamie Moore for instance what he thought.

no problem agreeing to disagree mate, ill add that alvarez always has a job making weight, not just for the rhodes fight, it must be a struggle every fight, he is an absolute beast at LM. I can actually see him fighting at SM late in his career, if you are good enough the skills will be carried upwards.

That's the point Rhino !
He had NO PROBLEM making the weight for the Rhodes fight because he had a brilliant training camp locked away for 10 weeks.
He learnt his lesson from the Hatton fight.
I think he'll be a three weight World Champ.

If it does happen which do you think is going to happen

1: Alvarez drops down to 10 stone 7lbs and fight for Mayweather's title
2: A catchweight of 10 stone 10lbs is made with Alavrez's title on the line.
3: Mayweather goes all the way to 154lbs to take it.

Impossible for Alvarez to drop in weight!
