What would happen here? Has Robinson ever faced an opponent like Hearns before?

In a shoot-out between two great skill-sets with great power, the chin will always win. Robinson by KO in 6. I tend to think a fight between the two would go pretty much the same way at any weight.

I believe Hearns would trouble Robinson at times with his reach and boxing skill and I can see him dropping Robinson in the early rounds, but I think Robinson would switch tactics and fiercely attack Hearns on the inside and break him down around the 8th round.

Hearns was very good, but his chin would fail him in this fight. Robinson by KO. As a matter of fact, Hearns was not that good at 160lbs. Hearns best shot would be at 154lbs and ww and still loses this fight. He wilts in 6.

I think Robinson stays in boxer mode as does Hearns,to a lesser extent of course, considering his excessive impulsiveness to slug, but like leonard,Hearns finds Robinson too dangerous and tries to box along but not quite well enough to pull it off. I dont see Robinson getting excessively desperate and opting for killer late round desperado mode like Leonard. Just smoothly and gracefully does his boxer mode thing and pretty much mostly cruises to a UD in the neighborhood of 145-139 providing its a 15 rd'er,if a 12 rd'er then a 116-112 type decision. I could see a flash knockdown by each thrown in the mix as well. Likely Robinson hitting the deck around the 3rd and Hearns in the 10th. All in all, great respect and admiration for one another, before, during, and after.
