With the current pound for pound fighters picking payday over pride up and coming fighters prevented from oppurtunites to break into the big time either from champions swerving them or home advantage decisions going against them in favour of the resident champs surely the stagnation of natural progression of the best being the best is a slow rot which will eventually kill the sport ?
Or am i way off ?

when somehow from the abyss superstars like pacman, JMM, and Amir Khan can emerge, there is always hope for this sport but so far the soviet introduction of the last twenty years has not been as good for the game as i thought it would be.
There are so many twenty a penny dull,slow,ponderous EE fighters for every vitali or wlad or pirog.

The cubans havent exactly been kid gavilan reincarnated.

Mexico and all these wonderful fighters are carrying the game to some extent, and i always love to see a genuine south american star like martinez emerge. Lets see the next monzon, hell even the next mayorga emerge, mayorga was tremendous copy for 2 years.

Bottom line we need some talented and tough black and white american HW superstars to emerge.
We need the next ODH, SRL and Hearns.
