I worked along side John at ringside for many years, the man is a gentleman with a capital G, a professional through and through and above all a good human being. Was always polite with everyone he talked to, a real credit to British Boxing.

John Coyle - Excellent referee, nice man, no ego, no criticism of any other referee or individual - a credit to boxing and man kind.

A good referee, if a tad slow at breaking fighters. Ultimately, a referee should know when to stop a fight, and John Coyle always knew when to stop a fight.

I think his last fight he reffed was alex arthur vs michael gomez.
Looking back at that fight - i think he could of saved arthur from the last knockdown.
