Roco, my analogy might answer the question :
In 1945 at MSG, I saw Rocky Graziano a tough NYC fighter fight a sesational young MW prospect named Billy Arnold, from Philly who was flattening everyone he met. Rocky was an 8 to 1 underdog against Arnold who they called "the new Joe Louis". Well in nthe first round Arnold battered Graziano from pillar to post, but couldn't put Rocky away. We in the crowd were hoping the ref would stop the bout , but Rocky lasted the round. Well in the second round Graziano unleashed a right hand bomb
on Arnolds chin and that was the end for the "new Joe Louis". I think that Graziano took a better punch than Jackson did, so I would give young Graziano the edge in this fight. Fight doesn't last 5 rounds...TIMBER...

Sure is. Where would you rank Arnold's power alongside Jackson's?

O, It is similar to comparing Ernie Shavers with Joe Louis. Julian Jackson might have hit harder with his one punch right hand but Louis was the best combination puncher. Billy Arnold until Graziano ruined him forever after, kod just about everyone he faced, until Rocky unloaded on him. There will never be a fighter as exciting as pre-Zale Graziano.

Interesting, thanks. I'd not heard of him before, so googled him. His story sounded interesting, with Ring mag being very high on him and he had a ridiculous KO streak. He didn't seem to have just that though, seems he had some real skill and speed too.

His story reminded me a little of the guy from the Kronk gym who was burned out quicker than he started. Not Parks, the other guy who was a teen alcoholic, name escapes me. Was being compared with the likes of Robinson etc.

x3...and I agree this fight isn't going beyond 5 rounds, and I doubt it would even make it that far.
