Yesterday, Bellew posted on this forum "Im done with all daft hype, The fight sells iself" so I was surprised to hear him call McIntosh a coward on last nights ringside.

For somebody who likes posters to "show respect" and claims that he "shows respect to all boxers" this comment was out of order in my opinion.

I don't know much about McIntosh, but looking at his record he had to beat decent domestic opposition (the likes of Oakey, Barney and Spartacus) before travelling to France to win the European title before defending it in Germany - hardly the actions of a coward !

On the other hand, Bellew has had the benefit of being a full-time amateur on funding, and moving to being a full-time pro who knows who he will be fighting and when, and being "well managed" (before Cleverley, the best he had faced was McKenzie).

I am not saying that one route is preferable / easier than the other, but for one boxer to call an opponent a coward is out of order (particularly when the opponent has had to get where they are "the hard way").

Bellew is just one of those guys who says silly stuff quite a lot. He can come across well in certain posts he makes but in person he seems to be a total idiot. That rat outburst with Cleverly was horrible to watch, like the pub arsehole in full flow. I wonder who the real Bellew is though, if he means the daft things he says.

He's passionate and gets carried away sometimes. I'd rather have that than the robotic textbook responses we get from a lot of others

Winding him up to try and get McIntosh to come out swining so he can use the tactics he used against Ovill, clever move.

What the fvck is this world coming too when people moan about a flippant comment before the 2 men try to smash each other unconscious?

Severe over use of the word coward said it about cleverley.in the boxing monthly interview too not really a word that you attribute to a boxer contradiction in terms surely . He is a wind up but good to watch

Listen he's done really well for himself but when the going gets tough he looks for a way out! I think I'm the opposite but come the 14th we will find out! All I can say is that he was certainly no coward in the Palais des Sports Marcel Cerdan in January last year. With three weeks' notice, and having been ill, he took on local favourite Thierry Karl and got hit with plenty of solid shots, was way behind on the cards and contending also with an overly fussy partisan referee. Yet he hung in there bravely and ultimately founds the shots to win in 11. People have written volumes on the British boxers who fell short overseas in 2011 but exceedingly little on the likes of McIntosh and Brian Magee who bucked that trend. Granted, Karl is average but as Adam Booth who was ringside in the Paris suburbs pointed out, very tough with a hard head and an iron jaw. I haven't seen the Gutknecht fight but Danny was certainly courageous last January. As someone famous once (almost) said, 'He'll always have Paris'.

Showed heart against Clev too. Mac isn't a coward.

i think what bomber is trying to say is that he thinks mcintosh quits when the going gets tough.

when he fought cleverly he was going down but not getting badly hurt. a classic example from this is when he went down and done a back flip to get up, any1 who can do that, could not have been that badly hurt in the first place or there legs wouldnt have the power to get up in that fashion.

this should be a classic. both men are big punches and both have a big personality there is a bit of needle between them, from previous verbals,

the press conference is on monday that should be fun

Some might consider your performance in the rematch against McKenzie to be cowardly.

You dominated the match but didn't go in for the kill even though it made for a very boring spectacle.

Das Horse makes a good point. Plus that 2 round KE was a huge shot.

But the point is that he kept on getting back up against Clev when he had plenty of opportunities to take the full count if he was looking for an 'out'.

McIntosh is not a coward, that's an overly disrespectful comment.

cardiff lad the object of boxing (just so you know) is hit and dont get hit.

he won every round against ovil and barely got hit. you said he hardly threw a punch against bellew, is that not down to bellew being too good for him and not allowing him to set? ovil actually said before the fight its the best shape hes ever been in and he has never in his life had more notice to prepare for a fight.

lets not forget that ovil is a huge puncher, so why go toe to toe with him and trade, ???????????

i doubt any boxer would give a dam what you think mate. you ask any boxer in the world would they rather win a fight easily with out getting hit. or trade with a dangerous puncher so cardiff lad will approve

Let me tell you something! Do you have any idea how hard I worked to get on that funding! You obviously think that they just give ABA titles away? Don't make out that McIntosh has worked harder than me! He never has and never will! I've earned everything single thing ive had from boxing and have never been found wanting when things get tough! Unlike Danny! I've given people what they wanna see as soon as they asked when I went back in with McKenzie! Ok the display was different but I went back in straight away when you all moaned he shouldn't have been stopped!

Don't ever make out that I don't deserve what I've got! Let me tell you, I work myself to a standstill and will never give up no matter how hard it gets! Can the same be said for others? NO!

Some may but I couldn't force McKenzie to fight? He wouldn't come near me!

Nathan was signed to fight Brancalion in Italy but his promoters failed to put the show on twice so that's why it happened in Wembley instead. His last fight was also in the Lions Den and he fought Danny McIntosh at a York Hall (on 3 weeks notice) full of Mac fans which is considerably closer to Norwich than South Wales.

I'm not sure why he's been brought into this but he's done more than his fair share of travelling.

I think that you may need to read my comment again.

My post was made in the context that many times on this forum you have accused people of being disrespectful of boxers, and said how you would never disrespect another boxer.

Yet here, you have made a very disrespectful comment about another boxer.
