OK apparently this is a very tough job, what type of matches do you like to see......

I'm going to use one of my good mates as an example of what I consider poor match making here.

Matty Askin was due to fight dickenson for the English title and in a final eliminator and somethings happened- so Askin has stayed on the bill and they've matched him with some dude called Atilla Palko.

Palko is 12-1 (10KO's)... is he good? Who knows, we'll find out next week- or will we? Because this guy might be the future undisputed heavyweight champion of the world- or he might last 10 seconds. Either way barring a spectacular knockout Askin might benefit from ring time but he's not going to gain anything in the way of Kudos.

Either he beats or no mark, or God forbid he loses and suddenly the guy becomes credible.

I don't see the sense in these matches- if there is no form or familiarity then imo the matches are largely pointless.

What are your thoughts on match making- what should matchmakers consider?

imo the scotish cruiser simmosen will be the cruiser to beat once he has a few more learning fights

Thats probably GOOD matchmaking as he will be against a guy with a good record on paper but digging deeper it wont be , people will only really see his 12-1 record not the turd hes beat .

It's all about levels innit. Anyone could get 12-1 and 10 KOs if they were fighting absolute rubbish.

john lewis dickinson fightin chris burton in aberdeen for the area title in think its 6 weeks time thats a great fight prob the winner will figh askin s

Not if your trying to build a fighter , you wont some good record on the fighters own record to make him look even better than he may actually be , its all about what paper can be earned in future
