I Personally believe Mcguigan was the better fighter when he was at his best. Watch Mcguigan - Laporte , Mcguigan - Pedroza to remind yourself what a special fighter Mcguigan was he was untouchable. Did Hamed ever beat a great fighter? No. Mcguigan would stop Hamed in 10.

I think a peak Naz would've beaten him. Barry would've had trouble catching him, and there would have been some serious punches heading his way too.

McGuigan's tenure was very short-lived indeed. He peaked in 1985 (against Laporte, Pedroza and Taylor). Naz enjoyed a longer reign (albeit at WBO level for much of it). But you have to judge greatness on how long a fighter dominates at the highest level. Naz dominated for much longer than Barry.

What I'm trying to say Gentleman is that Mcguigan at his peak not the intruder who fought Jim McDodonell would have trouned Hamed. Watch Mcguigan dodge everything Laporte throws. In the 9th round he hits Mcguigan with a punch that would flatten 90% of Featherweights but Mcguigan took it and came steaming back. Remember after this fight Laporte in some peoples book beat the mighty Chavez. I repeat the other question who did Hamed beat who was great? If Hamed fought Laporte , Devorce, Taylor, Pedroza and Cruz in 20 months Mcguigan fought them in how well do you think he'd have done. What Hamed opponents of Hameds apart from Barrera who beat him are worth mentioning. Medina, Johnson, Robinson Hardly in the same leauge as Barry's opponents.
