My good lady wife invested a relatively modest sum with local artist Paul Grant to paint the famous moment Rocky Marciano decks Jersey Joe Walcott as a present for my 40th birthday - the fact my 40th isn't until 2013 was lost on my good lady wife who thought it was this year, but thats another story - anyway. The end result is 4ft by3ft or there abouts and is very, very striking.

The artist is eager for new commissions, so those of you with the cash to indulge, I couldn't recommend him any higher.

I couldn't comment too specifically as I got a favourable deal due to his wife teaching at my children's school. However, I'd venture you get something like this for £250 maybe less. And this is large, obviously size informs.

I commisioned my aspiring (student) artist niece to do me a similar piece incl' size cos she was skint, this was January last year - still haven't seen it.

He was specifically told he didn't need to do it until January as to not raid the Christmas coffers.
