Andries was what i call one of these brutally strong 1970s carribean youths so many world champions sprung from that small carribean diaspora whether in Britain or Jamaica.....Andries was a HUGE light heavyweight.....although Hearns slide was just starting with this fight like you say he absolutely battered Andries to the canvas and Dennis would come back harder....he totally lacked skills for the world level at this point.... but i assume we are pitting the more polished Kronk trained Andries of 88/90 with Froch?

I see Froch winning on points.. Frochs chin and unorthodox style beats Andries. The 2010-2011 version of Glen Johnson Froch beat is similar to that Andries in strength and his come forward style.

Just as an aside to this day in my part of London, I am amazed at all the 40 something west indian males who are always the strongest in the gym, the best street fighters etc, and when u consider the number of these 1970s west indian (origin) youths who went on to be world champion boxers or top level fighters from what is a remarkably small area.....I mean look at these names for starters,

Lennox Lewis, Mike McCallum, Dennis Andries,Llloyd Honeyghan, Maurice Hope, Livingstone Bramble, Razor Ruddock, Kirklaind Laing, Nigel Benn,Trevor Berbick,Frank Bruno!

Whaaaa? What's Froch's track record at light heavy, exactly?

Brutish natural born light heavy Andries all the way.

i watched andries v hearns only the other night...the amazing thing is dennis actually totally stiffened hearns body with a big right hand in the 3rd but Tommy just took it like it was nothing altho for that 2 seconds his body had betrayed him and than just a few seconds before the end, andries actually floored hearns with a left hook but it was ruled a slip, although it was a clear knockdown.
