Which of them has lost the most money? Tyson, Holyfield, Ali?

And De La Hoya is worth $500 million dollars which must make him one of the richest sportsmen in the world and thankfully hasn't pissed it all up the wall.

De La Hoya - He made more when he and Mayweather fought. He commanded serious money. HBO had to pay $10 million for his fight with Forbes because it was not on Pay Per View.

Mayweather is up there because he is a huge PPV draw

ODLH has also made a lot of money with commercial ventures, obv GBP playing a big part in that.
The likes of Tyson and PBF have made lots of money in the ring but I can't see them making much outside.

Foreman is worth a mention too.

Big George is definitley worth a mention, funny thing is he made much more money after boxing. He got a shed load of money for putting his name to that health grill (I seem to remember somewhere in the region of 70-80 million dollars!!! )

Do you think ODLH is worth that much? In his book he said he was virtually broke before forming GBP with Shaffer. So I don't know how he would have amassed $500m since. The list of business interests are extensive and AEG bought a stake but I think $500m is way too high imo.

Apparently Jack Dempsey is in the Guinness book of records for the highest paid boxer ever. He made $750k for his fight with Tunney which was more than Babe Ruth made in his whole career and worth $9.5M today. According to the internet that is...

De la Hoya, Mayweather Jnr, Holyfield and Tyson must be at the very top though Holyfield and Tyson have blown tens of millions.

Jimmy McClarnin earned mega money when he was boxing, retired a millionaire in the 1930's and he kept a hold of it.

I would not say he is one of the richest but he has done well for himself. Plus Hopkins has looked after his money as well which helps as said in an interview with The Ring in September 2011 he has previously bought some low interest govermment bonds in the US and a few rental properties in his native Philly plus he is a partner in Golden Boy Promotions as well so he is doing well.

I think Oscar is no 1, in terms of paydays received anyway.

How much of that he has left, I have no idea.

Holyfield will be overlooked by many but he was a fairly big PPV draw back in the day.

Tyson did huge figures, even against cans but how much of that actually saw its way to Tyson is a completely different story. Same with his purses.

I can't be bothered to Google but I'm sure there is a comparable breakdown of purses, which may adjust overall standing of monies earnt.

Obviously it does nothing to adjust for inflation and neither does it take into account that PPV is a relatively modern "invention".

Lennox Lewis is meant to be worth around £90million I think and Hatton around £30-£45million I think.
