I'd be happy with Redknapp or O'Neill but i think O'Neill will stay at Sunderland especially after the FA snubbed him last time he applied.

Betting market for this is an opportunity for the bookies to print money. It doesn't matter if someone is appointed from tomorrow to the end of the euros, it has to be a permanent appointment.

Presumably Harry is being lined up for this role but on an interim basis Rafa Benetez would be my choice, knows the English game inside out and is tactically astute. Lives in this country and is available.....

Anyone else think Cappello has used this Terry incident to jump ship before it sinks? Granted he's innocent until proven guilty but there's enough evidence to bring John Terry to trial. So how could he possibly remain captain?

England are terrible. We couldn't even beat the USA or Algeria at the last world cup and only managed to score one goal against Slovenia. Germany should have scored about 8 goals when they beat us 4-1.

Bring in Martin O’Neill. He can work wonders even when he's been given a bunch of sh!t to work with. Think it's to late now for any manager no matter how good he is. I fully expect us to take a pasting in the Euro.

Capello was looking for a way out and this opportunity came along and he took it............

I think he has manufactured the argument to get released from his contract in an amicable way. He knew he wasn't liked by the fans, he was paid huge amounts of money and didn't progress the team at all, but that was always going to be the case as England don't have the players anymore. I think Capello came for the money and knew the score right from the beginning and the World cup just confirmed what he, the players and the fans already knew, that paying a succesful foriegn manager loads of money was never the answer to the inherent problems that face the the English national side.

I bet he is thinking " Thank fuk for that........... " in Italian of course

I've been a big fan of O'Neill since he managed Leicester. He's an excellent manager. He would decline the England job, though.

The deification of Henry, sorry, Harry Redknapp is befuddling. He's won next to nowt, has shown a chilling lack of loyalty in the past and overspent and left Portsmouth in tatters.

But he's canny. Is a sound bloke for the media, so they all love him, perpetuates the loveable 'Arry persona and everyone loves his harmless inside-out face.

Watch it all unfold post Euros with the sudden retrospective wisdom -

- He stuck with Lampard because he's a relative
- Biased towards his Spurs players
- How could he provide success with such little experience of European football
- He's too pally with the players

It'll happen. When McLaren began, his 'Stevie G'-isms were supposedly a breath of fresh air. Soon as results went tits up we apparently needed discipline. All hail Capello. He takes no crap, just what we need. Then the World Cup debacle and seemingly it's no wonder as morale was low as he treated kept the players cooped up in camp, the evil authoritarian.

O'Neill, I don't understand. Good manager - Yes, great No. I found him (along with many other Celtic fans) to be tactically inept in the Champions League but a master in a two legged tie (UFEA cup run). So maybe get Hogson in to get you out the group, Martin for the knock out stages then Bentiez if and when you get to the final.

Simples.

Or Walter Smith who will bore the opposition and probably the world into a coma before progressing to the final.

Harry = the best of a bad bunch! In a league dominated by Scots and European managers there's not been much room for the English fellows to shine has there.

Redknapp is Venables MkII for me, not that I'm complaining about that, I just see him being that type of manager. Still certain we won't win f* all no matter who the manager is, players just aren't of a high enough standard.

Easy for me to say like, sat at my desk here digesting something called a chicken chimichanga.

As a Tottenham man, I'd keep Harry till the end of the season, and then I'd bring El Tel back to the Lane
