CMON DAVID PRICE GET SOME BALLS

by SexySouthPaw
Lets get this in perspective shall we,for years all I have been hearing is how David Price beat up Tyson Fury every time they met in the Amateurs. How Price is the best heavyweight around, well Price and Maloney bottled the fight. How and why?

1.Hennessy offered Price 100k to fight Tyson without a purse bid on Ch5 and Maloney and Price turned it down.
2.Where in this world is David Price going to get money like that at this stage of his career? Never!
3.Maloney hasn't acted in the best interest as Prices manager if he is the Manager,he has acted in his own best interest as a Sky Promoter keeping the fight on sky by boxing a washed up Sam Sexton.
4.If Price confidently beat Tyson every time they met whats the Problem, doesn't matter where or who they fight for,but if Price v Fury was on terrestrial TV it would have gone out to millions and Price as the Great White Hype would be a household name if he won.
5.So by a:turning down a 100k fight;b wont fight a man he has beaten everytime they have met;c is seen by millions, what does Price and Maloney want? Tyson to turn up blind folded with one arm behind his back? Come on Mr Price and Mr Maloney get some balls!

IMO it seems as though you have fallen for fat Mick's smoke and mirrors.

If price turned down 100k, but still took up the posistion of mandatory for the british title, why wouldn't Meaty Mick let it go to purse bids where he could potentially get price in a channel 5 ring cheaper? The answer is because Tyson's team (not Tyson himself imo)do not want any part of Price just yet. And Hefty Hennesey has got to protect his only fighter of any note at all costs. The 100k offer was an excuse maker and i dont know that any promoter would have taken that being in Frank Maloney's posistion. It would not suprise me if SKY said to take it to purse bids because its a fight they would very much be into.

Having said that, its a "he said, she said argument". :TU:

You know very little about the purse bid process,British Title fights attract a certain amount of money from Sky and its no where near 100k, Price isnt a big ticket seller,so Maloney was never going to bid big, only bluff to raise Hennessy bid if Maloney and Price fancied the fight so much why didnt they offer Fury 100k,simple they dont have it,FOOL

Because you also don't understand how Purse Bids and promotional contracts work,Maloney wouldnt bid big cos they dont have the money, yes Mick would be forced to spend more money as Tyson is the CH5 poster boy.Maloney knows this so he sits back and watches the play.Tyson moves on to bigger fight bigger pay days 3 steps ahead of Maloney and Price,Price fights for less and takes more risk.Simples

My point is why would Mick not try to get it cheaper by going to purse bids? If, in the unlikely event they lost said bid, then they could then relinquish the titles. All smells a bit fishy to me.

I suspect Price has never seen anything near 100k for a single fight, and I suspect it will be a while yet before he does.

Too easy to paint Fury/Mick H black here, they made a bloody good offer IMO. There might well have been better offers on the table, I'm sure there were. But at the end of the day this doesn't appear to have come down to who would win the fight, but which promoter/TV company gets the right to stage it. The Sky axis is prepared to pay more than C5 so the only way Mick H could guarantee the fight for his TV channel was by pulling Fury out. If he hadn't, he would have lost one of his main headliners (and he has very very few) to Sky and what would C5 have had to say about that? He might well have ended up losing his deal over it, when he's onto a good thing with C5 and his fighter has been getting fantastic coverage.

People have said this isn't the case, that Sky only pay c 100k per show, but that patently isn't the case for major events. Khan and Froch do not fight for 100k a throw. Fury-Price would have been a major events rather than a run of the mill Saturday Fight Night, so Sky would have gone to bat for it - particularly as they are intent on crushing BoxNat at the moment.

All about politics again, nothing to do with boxing.

I highly doubt Price is scared of Fury, let's face it based on recent performances Price would make short work of Fury.

Price would smash Fury. And he's not a bad ticket seller.

Fury's got nothing more than a punchers chance. And I'm a manc who likes Fury.

The fact is MH knows there are much bigger paydays out there for Fury as long as he doesn't come unstuck. Price is a few fights behind in that respect. I'd expect Fury to fight someone of similar ilk to last 2 fights, watch Chis get beat and then start calling out the klits like there's no tomorrow.

I'd like to see Fury in with Helenius, but I'd be surprised if that came off.

Got to be honest here whilst thinking Price beats Fury its certainly not a gimmee and I would be really interested to know
did Price turn down 100k to fight Fury, I dont really give a donald whether it was on channel 5 or any channel.

David is not getting 100k to beat anyone else so why not do that, of course if its rubbish and that amount was never oiffered
than why not clear it up and say so.

FTM and Hennessy both use this as an avenue when it suits so lets have some honesty guys, offer or non offer.

I have tp say you know nothing about how the boxing world works the only reason fury team would not go to purse bids is they knew they could not win. Any other promoter could bid for that fight and who knows the fight might have ended up on allegedly and we would have to go with the winning bid. I know my own bid would have giving David Price much more than a £100,000 so if i had took Hessny. bid i would have be selling my man short. I know there was 3 bids in at the BBBofC office but no bid from Hessny./Fury so what dose that tell us. The only one who got no balls here is team Fury you only got to read his own uncles write up on Boxrec. Price earn the right to fight for both titles and the right to go to purse bids we are not the ones who pull out.

Can you deal with Sexton to get the fight on quickly rather than wait to purse bids?

Step up to what we are not the ones who pull out of the purse bids we would have boxed on which ever promoter won the bids. Fury should hang his head in shame, He should have told his team i want to go to purse bids as a deal could not be reached i am the champ and want to keep my titles not hand them in like a chicken.

In order for you to pay David Price £100,000 you would have had to bid AT LEAST £240,000 as the Champion gets a 60/40 split, its a well known fact financially you are struggling.Price is uproven and no way would sky sports give you a minimum of £240,000 to back a fighter like Price in a 50/50 fight purely because if he lost, the investment would go down the drain. It would have to be pay per view in order to make it worth their while in the event of Price losing. And Sky dont do pay per view after the bullshit Haye v Audley fight so who are you trying to convince otherwise Frank?
Price gets Sexton and wins = 1 Show

2nd show Price v TBA (No one else around apart form Chisora) wont hava a mandatory for at least six months if chisora gets a beating from Klitschco he will be out for a while possibly a year.

3rd show another voluntary defence not worth watching because who else is out there?

So you put on 3 shows all safe bets for price keeps your contract sweet with Sky keeps you and Price in the driving seat.

Less risk doing it that way than facing Fury in a fight Price may or may not win.

PS You are selling your man short because no way is he getting 100k for his next fight or the one after he will be luckiy if he makes 100 k in his next 3 fights!!!! Especially with you Frank
