Only 2nd fight, but why fight if your injured it's not a World Title fight

At least I got something right tonight. Said on the other thread it was obvious he had trouble with that right hand, he barely threw it at all.

when did he nearly get knocked out? was there a 7th round i did not see? yes he took a chance fighting while injured but he wanted to keep busy, ball did well for his limitations, i expect hennessey now to choose a few guys eubank can Ko to up his stoppage percentage?

he looks a decent prospect, defensively he did ok, he will have learnt a lot tonight.

feel for eubank jr hes got alot of pressure on him because of what his dad achevied hes noticed at the begining of his career like an olympic prosepect, takes time to get it right see him in 10 fights and see what hes like.

After about one minute of the 2nd round (ch.5 didn't show the first round) I picked up that he wasn't using his right. I watched it carefully after that and I can assure you he did not throw a single right hand. How Dave McAuley failed to spot it is beyond me.

At home this was commented on by the 3rd round but even the commentators seemed oblivious to it, I didnt hear the mention it which seems poor from watching 4 rounds plus of a guy only using his left. Much respect to him though for getting through it - at the time I just presumed it happened during the fight.

looks the part before the bell rings but thats where it ends. if this kid was called jack jones no one would bat an eyelid . and regards feeling sorry for him for being eubanks lad thats what he wants what other prospect gets the exposure hes been getting off channel 5 he loves it
he is just another boxer and thats it .he was lucky to get the decision on sat could easily of been a draw or a loss
if channel 5 want to show real prospects at the very start of there pro life lets have a bit of bradley saunders scott cardle ect real talented lads who will go on and win titles of some sort
this is no personnel attack on eubank but come on we all know the game on here and he is nothing special

I thought he did well considering he had 1 hand. Yes he took a massive chance fighting with injury but i think he was getting fed up because of the amount of time it has taken him to get his 2nd fight.

Eubank Jnr took the chance and even though it affected his balance quite badly he did well to get the win. His balance was shot when on the inside as he was over compensating his left hooks to body and head thus leaving his right side open and his balance stretched.

I wonder if his hand will be ok for him to fight on the Fury vs Rogan undercard

Injuring your hand so close to a fight is bad but the kid showed some bottle to not pull out. He turned up and fought one handed. Stupid? Probably, but it builds character and he showed plenty of grit.

As for being 'almost knocked out' not sure when that was supposed to have 'almost' happened? He was not troubled at all. In fact, each time he got tagged, he came blazing back with 2-3 punches, all from the left, to head and body.

The other corner noticed it after about 3 rounds as I heard them say it, in their corner something along the lines of 'his hand is fucked'. Like the other poster said, how the TV commentary failed to pick up on this is baffling. I mean, I thought it halfway though the 2nd round, the fact all he threw was left hands. At the end of the 3rd (I think), Davies says something and Jnr looks down at his hand and says, 'it's bad'. I can only assume he was referring to his hand. All things considered, he did ok. Showed heart, bottle, kept firing back hard, when he could, so I learnt a little bit more about him, as a fighter.

indeed, shocking commentary to spend the whole time banging on about Eubank being under pressure and to not even notice he's throwing double and triple left hands, and no right hands at all.

Was late seeing the C5 fights but Eubank wasn't nearly as bad as I was expecting after reading some comments. Still looks a good prospect for me

I noticed that he didn't use his Right hand once from the 2nd round too & having watched the TV broadcast & listenened to the commentary now, they didn't mention it once.

I found it extremely odd that they wouldn't mention it; in fact, one of the commentators kept referring to the 'fact' that Eubank Jr lacked power.

That was Davey Boy who kept saying he was a solid puncher but didn't have 1 punch ko power. Was quite annoying they didn't pickup on him not using his right hand once. Dave Boy also kept going on about him not throwing combos. Again maybe because he wasn't using his right due to injury.

it is only his second fight but as far prospects go i have not seen anything that floats my boat . and the boring right hand story why didn,t he try feinting with it sometimes feinting with a punch is as good or better than actually throwing it as it opens oppenents up and bring them onto the opposite hand in eubanks case the left hook . answer probablly cos the great prospect isn,t is great as some people think everyone gets injured or has to change taticts during fights and to see him struggle at this early stage just confirms that he isn,t what he is being billed as

would still like to see him prove me wrong though good luck to him but he is going to need luck to go far in this game and certainly need to use his brain a bit more

I see a few tragic posts on here about Eubank Jr being nothing special, how do you know?

Eubank Sr didn't look great early in his career, and Jr beating a guy comfortably with one hand is pretty impressive IMO.

I'm sure we'll see how good Chris is in his next bout.

how do you know if you see someone special you do know straight away fullstop

why wait for the next fight to come out and say what you think just becouse some people don,t rate him a hot prospect doesn,t mean they are tragic does it

what have you seen so far that deserves great exposure on 5 yes his name and thats it
