Along with the brawl there was also some boxing happened this weekend and I thought I'd try to comment on five things we learned from that in Germany.

1 VITALI ISN'T AS GOOD A FIGHTER AS HE USED TO BE
The fight was closer than any fight that Vitali has had in a while, and although some of that is down to Chisora coming to fight, it seems clear that a busier, younger Klitschko wouldn't have had such a problem fighting a 17 fight novice who has legitimately lost one of his last three, and his record says he lost two. It seems that his 40 years or time spent in politics are catching up with him and it may be that those close to him will soon be pushing for him to retire if this fight wasn't a freak one. Also the way he hugged Wladamir after the fight indicated that he was relieved to have come through it.

2 CHISORA IS BETTER THAN WE THOUGHT
Derek Chisora shouldn't have been in the same ring as Klitschko based on his record, but with odds stacked against him he kept Klitschko off his balance and kept a high work rate throughout, had that fighter been in the match up against Fury he'd have won handily. He will have learned a hell of a lot from this fight and if he keeps his license and listening to his better angels then he has a good future ahead of him.

3 YOU SHOULD STILL AVOID GOING TO FIGHT IN GERMANY
Forgotten among the myriad of stupid things that Chisora has done it was demonstrated again that Germany isn't an easy place to be the away fighter. Even with all the odds stacked against Chisora the Klitschkos still plaid mind games with him including the nonsense about the hand wraps before the fight.

4 DAVID HAYE WILL COME BACK TO BOXING
David Haye wants to fight again, he was clearly in Germany to press that case and even if it's not Klitschko he misses being the centre of attention, he was clearly doing everything he could to talk Klitschko into the ring but if that doesn't happening he was talking himself up throughout the evening.

5 BONTE DOESN'T FANCY A HAYE, VITALI FIGHT
It sounded very much like Vitali was up for the Haye fight if the money was right, Bonte on the other hand was like a brick wall when it came to everything Haye was saying, it sounded like that was very much the case with him having Haye removed from ringside also. This seems strange given that what ever one thinks about whether Haye has earned the fight I would think there would be more money in that fight than any other obvious options.

The last two are pretty obvious regarding Haye and Vitali's manager...............

As for number two, i would disagree with regard to Chisora being a better fighter than we thought. He put up a similar fight against Helenius, was very one dimensional and essentially got out-boxed, losing in a landslide points decision to a fast declining 40 year old fighter. I think Chisora was as good or as bad as everyone expected him to be, the fact that Vitali didn't stop him, says more about Vitali than it does Chisora. Dereck Chisora is an average to good domestic fighter, who like those before him has been given the chance to step up and fight in a totally undeserved world title shot because the Klitschko's are businessmen who want easy defences. It's the state of heavyweight boxing today that average domestic heavyweights get title shots, aswell as blown up cruiserweights. It's become a circus and the divsion is almost irrelevant.
