After the raw but explosive Nigel Benn (22-0 22 kayoes) was utterly exposed by Michael Watson, the watching Michael Nunn said " Benn is just another Bruno...no heart".

What would happen if Benn had taken this remark personally and than in late 1990 following his rapid improvement in defence, lateral movement, stamina and pacing, and succesive wins in America over Amparo, Williams, Quinones, DeWitt and Barkley he took on Nunn instead of Eubanks?

Who wins and how?

no heart? benn had more heart in his jockstrap than nunn ever had. as for the match up it depends on how nunn approached the fight, if he gets careless or loses focus he loses by ko, if he can stay smart he might win - i reckon he aint smart enough.
benn ko 9

Much as I love Nigel, as a fighter, I have to be honest and say he would really struggle with Nunn. Nunn, at that time was fantastic fighting at his preferred range and confident to take it inside. He would really give Nigel some massive problems. Nunn by late stoppage, in my opinion, Nigel under pressure and the ref has to intervene type thing.

Of course, that's just one opinion.

I think the Benn of late 90 was still too crude for what was a Nunn in the very prime of his life. I dont think Benn ever felt confident about fighting Nunn during this period or even in 1993 when Nunn was ringside for Benn-Eubanks II and benn had all those title defences under his belt by than.

Still there was always the chance with Nunn he'd taste Benns power early like he did with Barkley and laze through the fight in mock confident survival mode.

i dont see that though I see Nunn beating Benn to a tko defeat around the 8th similar to the roldan beating.Nunn would impress in this fight and Nigel would take the worst beating of his life and never be the same again.
