will he ever get to the level where he can take on dawson, pascal etc,imo he`s a long way short of being competetive, that padded record is a bit of disgrace when he`s a world champion
on another point,do you think carl froch will move up to light heavy, could be some good fights for him, before he slows down,he`s achieved all he can at super middle, after bute where`s he going to go??pavlik?re match with ward or kessler ??don`t think so

I don't think Carl is big enough to move up in weight, I think putting on 10lbs of muscle at this stage would not be of benefit to him. It struck me after the Ward fight Carl said something along the lines of 'I felt when Ward was leaning on me he was stronger and heavier, he was probably heavier than me on the night.' So many of the posters on here refer to Froch as an enormous Super-middleweight whereas Carl himself always says he makes the weight easily because he walks around more or less on the limit all the time. You can't be both guys, you either cut a shit load of weight and put it on between weigh in and fight and thus are an enormous fighter at the weight (ala Scott Harrison), or you do the weight easily and don't put loads of weight on between weigh in and fight. There are Canadians who claim Bute does the weight easily and stuffs his face with steaks the night before weigh ins, but in the same breath claim he gets in the ring 20lbs heavier than when he weighed in.

It's something I'd like to hear from Gomez about because I would like to know once and for all whether Froch is a big drainer or not.

Carl's natural weight is about 173lb and as soon as he begins camp it's around 168-170 without fail.

If he starves, or if he eats like a king, he is always about the same.
