A career flyweight at the end of his career vs a proper Bantamweight. Great contest..... how do these fights get passed through the European title people. I know it's a late replacement but come on at least can we have a proper bantamweight,

For 2weeks notice it werent bad. Who else could they put in and would take it?

WBC champion Yamanaka is facing Darchinyan in a few weeks...that seemed to be the one Sky were hinting at and Yamanaka is a damned good fight.

'Eaten for breakfast' the lads never been stopped, never been dropped and is one of the fittest boxers in Britain! I think he will do well at the next level and world level.

He can only beat what's put in front of him!

Poor match up but McDonnell did what he needed to against that level of opponent.

maloneys shows are getting worse,or was this a hobson show.

Thanks Buddy... just tuning into Wlad's "fight". Not to go off topic of mismatches but if Mormeck pulls this off this will be bigger than Tyson - Douglas.... injuries and has to end some time... cant see it tonight but possibly soon.

I'm sorry bit I don't think that was a great fight either. Jamie is ranked #2 by the WBC (who have Abner Mares at #1 despite the fact Mares holds the IBF title...) in a division like Bantamweight he should be mixing it with someone better than either Bouzaine or Pozo personally.

I'm not saying put him in with Cazares, Santa Cruz, Agbeko etc just someone a bit more credible as the division is one of the strongest out there right now.

He was mandatory challenger for EBU though, no 1 ranked is Jmaoye who he beat no 2 is Haskins. Pozo was no 6 the division not great in Europe it would been a tougher fight for sure. He needs to test himself at world level with a fringe opponent.

Exactly, I think we have some McDonnell fan boys in here tonight. McDonnell did great to win the Euro title and he's clearly the best at British level, but tonight's opponent was a fookin flyweight who has got old and fattened up. The size difference was just daft and it was a piss poor matchup, total rip-off for the fans who went and doesn't do boxing any favours at all.

There is, quite literally, a WORLD of difference between the fights Jamie has been having at Euro level and the people who operate at world level at Bantamweight. I stand by my prediction that he will get eaten if they put him in with one of the top guys.

He needs a few more testing fights before he steps up to world level. How well does he make the weight though. Jamoye gave him an awful tussle there the fights he needs.

I'm a big fan of Jamoye who is a good fighter...but Santa Cruz handled him with ease which suggests that either Jamie isn't world class or Leo is a demon.
