Was the WBA right to give Khan his title back?

I think it's a disgrace. Shame on the WBA and shame on Khan for accepting the title. I actually think he's talented fighter but he got beat. I had him losing even without the point deductions and I've watched the fight twice. He was lucky to get an immediate rematch. Many losing fighters have to wait years to get another shot. That's what all the whining was for, to force the governing bodies hands. The man in the hat, the time it took to count, the point deductions etc had nothing to do with Peterson. Khan was still losing as he fought the wrong fight.
Everybody seems to have missed the point... fact is by his whining and complaining he's tarnished Peterson's achievement. And as champion it should have been Peterson's decision who he fought next not Khans.

No way, they surely have not given him his title back, have they? Are you sure?
That is a first in boxing history. If this is true, I might just say fornicate it and give up on the whole thing. Its actually become ridiculous.

Never heard of anything like this before and I don't agree with it at all.

Why is anyone surprised by this? It's the WBA. They and the WBC routinely make a mockery of the sport. And will carry on doing so as long as the sport allows them to.

Titles should only be won in the boxing ring.
The Hopkins & Dawson episode is a total disgrace too.
What good has that decision done the lt-heavy division?

People claim Cleverley is a paper champion for winning his titles when they're vacant, but at least he beat his opponent to gain his title. To lose a fight and then be given the title back becasue you've cried like a baby is pathetic, in the truest sense of the word. And Khan is apparantly celebrating his title "win". I'm a fan of Khan the boxer, but I can see why he turns off so many boxing fans.

WBA and WBC seem to have more titles than the rest put together

I think khans setting himself up for a fall. He's so convinced he won the first fight and so convinced he was robbed that he probably thinks he's only got to turn up in Vegas to win. All this nonsense with giving him his belt back is just strengthening his conviction.
The fact is it was a very close fight and it will be again.

To be fair, Cleverly didn't. He beat a last minute sub, who had no right to be in ring boxing for it, to win the interim title, he was then given the title, he then beat a last minute sub in his first defence. Since then he has made two voluntary defences against opponents outside the WBO top 10.

The WBA don't recognise the decision, the IBF do. Inevitable.

I think after all the bullshit he does only have to turn up. Peterson could absolutely batter him for 12 rounds and I bet Khan would still get the dec this time.
