Did anyone see this? I thought this was a forgone conclusion. I sure matchroom will try and line up John Ryder to fight Hope ASAP maybe on the Froch bill.

Over-confident and under-trained. I actually had him winning, but he left only a slim gap between himself and his opponent at the finish line - and the judges saw it differently.
I will still tune in and follow him, exciting fighter indeed regardless !

Ryder won't fight for European anytime soon. Thought Hope was extremely lucky to get the decision, fought well but didn't win IMO

Way To Soon for Ryder.. There's No way the fight will happen, even if he did win (going by last night he wont) he would have to keep fighting in that Class....

Echo your sentiments there Gomez.
He came over as one arrogant arse to be honest.
I think he expected a three round blow out.
This result could acually be a Godsend for the lad.
Maybe he'll come back properly focused, no piss taking with the prep and antics in the ring, and a bit of humility.
If he does he could become a very dangerous customer for any Middleweight out there.
As for Kerry - performed at the absolute peak of his ability and for me deserved it.
The cut was an accidental clash of heads despite the protestations, and Proksa was much at fault for the coming together later in the fight but that point off could have been critical.
Proksa was lucky a couple of times with low blows and a few after the bell as well !
Well done Kerry.

Absolutely delighted for Kerry, he's taken some knocks and had many let downs but hasn't let them deter him. Agree that Proksa looked arrogant, un-conditioned and also like he had thought the fight was going to be a walk in the park. How many people on here said that this was a pointless fight and bad match-making! Delighted for my old mate Karl Ince (Kerry's trainer) too, who also puts the hard work in day in day out!! Nice do come first after all! Great result! Well done Kerry and Karl

Well said.
Good for Kerry and (potentially) good for Proska in the long run.

Proksa made the same mistake many have done in the past, of underestimating an opponent. He seemed tired from the 5th round onwards, and Hope took advantage, the power and quality had me scoring for Proksa , but some of the round could of gone either way.
I did think that Proksa's corner may of tried to get it to the scorecards early on because of the cut, but fair play to them and Proksa that they didn't try and get him pulled out early on and get a points win, which i think they would of got anywhen in the first 10 rounds.
Proksa did come across as arrogant in the fight, but he was congratulating Hope straight after the annoucment , so should good sportsmanship then.

Sorry I must have missed the part where Proska came across as arrogant, he seemed very sporting at the end considering. His biggest offence was no defence, he doesn't have the speed of reaction to stay out of the way of punches all night long . Anyone with a bit of a dig (hope obviously has none) would exploit the static head like a speed ball in the gym.
Hope was well motivated, good engine and good chin. excellent fight though nice match of styles.
I'd watch a rematch.

Yup, totally agree mate. Only just watched the fight...
All the lovely "Woohoo, the underdog!" stuff aside, Hope deserved to be disqualified for headbutting that cut open a bit more. I know he got a point deducted, but FFS the Polish lad's eyebrow was nearly falling off from a headclash anyway, & then he clearly stuck the nut in on the wound. I would've put Hope's bollocks somewhere up around the region of his kidneys if he'd just done that to me.
But yeah, congratulations to the winner (I still had him losing, FWIW). He did very well & had a plan.
I'd love to see a rematch.

Did you see the lead up to the heads coming together ?
Stop making Proksa out as some nice boy with no arrogance.
What about the combo he pulled after the bell, should he have got a point off ?
Maybe the arrogance came over more at the fight than on TV I don't know.

Proksa shouldn't have stuck his face into Hope's face if he didn't want to get headbutted. There is no way he should have been disqualified for that.

See below!
Quite possibly; I had to turn the commentary off because it was making me spit out bits of breakfast cereal so I didn't see an arrogant fighter, I saw a stupid, overconfident & ill-prepared fighter lose a fight I thought he still won, sorry.

Oh, is that what he did? Sorry, didn't see that, was making coffee inbetween rounds & I came back & they're showing Hope sticking the nut in, didn't know the Pole got "all up in his face" as they say.

I was at the live event, Proksa looked like a very limited boxer last night, no jab and the only shots he threw was left and right hooks with the occasional uppercut. Every shot he threw was designed to take out Hope, he didn't set up any punches at all.

No need to apologise
I mean Proksa was arrogant in the fight, he was talking and calling Hope on, showing out to him . the ref even told him to stop talking.
After the fight he was the perfect gentleman , as i said in my post.

Oh fair enough I wasn't sure if it was Proksa's boxing style that was being labelled arrogant, mind you if you remove Hope's name, that statement could probably be used for every single boxer in history at one time or another.

Thought Proska comfortably had that, but made up for Team Hope all the same.
Well done.

I reckon it was pretty close, one of those fights you could justifyably have scored either way - for me, Proksa should have retained (possibly on a draw) but good luck to Hope, he took his opportunity really well.

That is pretty much exactly how I saw it.
I had Proska up by one, two including the points deduction, but was delighted to see Kerry given the nod. Proska looked gased after the 6th and praying for a big single shot to land a KO, however, he sent smoke signals a week in advance of every shot he threw and Kerri's desire and determination and work rate saw him draw himself back into the fight.
I was delighted for everyone and VIP, Team Ince, Team Hope etc, deserved.
