That the super middleweight division is a joke...i mean u have Sven Ottke who is unbeaten and WONT defend againt anyone dangerous and outside Germany,Bernard Hopkins-more or less the same as Ottke-Calzaghe i feel sorry for him because he really does want to fight the best of the best.
If the fighters of years and years ago looked back at some of these fighters and promoters they would be ashamed of this scene today.

I fully agree, if every boxer would employ James 8) Toneys anybody, anywhere, anytime motto boxing would be massive.
There are so many potential match-ups that have just not happened, due to boxers not willing to take a risk

(Tyson-Tua being an example).

That's the sad state of Boxing today i am afraid, full of people who make lots of cash defending alphabet titles in there home countries, why ruin the cash flow and fight away from home? Losing is classed as a big stigma these days, a loss is not the end of the world and it can sometimes be the best thing to happen to a fighter, Jim Watt always makes this point that fighters should embrace it. Unfortunately too much emphasis is made on the "0" as the Americans say and many fighters will not take risks which leads to the public being deprived of the best fights.
Who is best at Super Middleweight? Ottke? Calzaghe? Beyer? We will never know as they will not fight, 50 years ago they probably would have met each other four times by now!!
