Lamar Clark used to do this, fighting several guys on one show, the same day. I know about a couple of unknown who did the same.
Would be interesting to learn more about other several bouts fighters.

foreman did it in the afternoon..and was pretty tired by the fifth one. there are stories of old timers doing this....dumb dan morgan spun a fairy tale about one of his fighters...battling levinsky, i think....but that's more in the class of an urban legend if my attempt to really verify this is right.

maybe someone will come up with some others...but i think if they do they'll be in the lamar clark category.

They are officially listed as exhibitions, alougth they looked like real fights to be e.g. no headguards and forman was trying to knock them out.

Battling Levinsky once fought two 10 rounders and a 12 rounder on the same day, all three fights lasting the distance.

according to the ring record book, the fights woller refers to took place on new year's day, 1915...against bartley madden, soldier kearns and gunboat smith. the first two were ten round NDs, the third a 12 round ND....in brooklyn, new york (city i presume) and waterbury, (conneticut?..is there another waterbury)

skeptics have long claimed this wasn't true,and was part of dumb dan morgan's tale spinning. i haven't been able to find any newspapers that old to confirm or deny...but the ring record book was THE source in its day, so i'll accept it.

take a look at levinsky on box rec...a lot of fights with few days...some as little as two....between fights. after gene tunney beat him for the american light heavy title, tunney said "the poor fellow did his best, but he just couldn't punch." record shows just 23 kayos in 274 fights..and he had 176 no decision fights. so ..without a punch..he must have had SOMETHING going for him to have such along career.

George Foreman beat 5 in one night(exch)

Young Griffo beat 6 in one night(Exch.)-Held in Yugoslavia in the mid 1970's.

Muhammad Ali fought 5 in one night(exch)

The list is endless.

Frans Botha once fought three opponents on the same night. On November 19th, 1992, Russel Rierson, Mike Jones and Artie Hooks were all each KO'd in the first round. Needless to say, there were all tomatocans to serve as padding on Botha's record.

Personally, I feel that a fighter should not engage more than one fight a night, but I would certainly welcome more exhibitions. They have more or less become a thing of the past, which is a shame because they're great for fighters to shake off some rust in front of a crowd.
