Balker vs clarke, simmons v conquest, all up and comers with only handful of fights actually forgetting the easy wins route and getting in together, realy good to see. And askin v dickinson fight means realy good domestic fights coming up. nice one lads.

Its a small division but there are alot of competitive matches to be made, i think Simmonsen is the pick of the bunch

Look out for Walsall's former ABA champion Chris Keane, 4-0 (1), to make a move by the end of the year. For a man of his size he's remarkably quick, and has a rapid jab.
He's got a rust-shredding six-rounder in Wolverhampton this Friday night, against the Lithuanian who took Chisora the distance in the autumn, and hopefully he'll have his scrap shown on allegedly.
I think we could see some excellent bouts in the division in the next 12-18 months.

Where would you all put Harri Miles in this mix?

You are also forgetting Shane McPhillbin's tough first defence of the British title against former European and World Champion Enzo Maccarenelli as well which makes it an even more interesting Cruiserweight division because McPhilbin will want to show he is a genuine force at 14stone 4lbs on the British scene and by defeating an experienced former European and World Champion in the shape of Big Mac it will send a strong statement.

As i said in the past reply, he won the 2009 ABAs at heavyweight. Originally managed by Barry McGuigan, Chris asked for a release after a fight-less 2011 and is now looked after by Errol Johnson and allegedly.

I admire him fighting Enzo as his first defence but can only see this going one way, Enzo will work the body and stop him IMHO

Dickinson is the best of the lot IMO, although Askin is a bit of an unknown quantity.
Also watch out for Danny Price

While i agree the likelyhood of that is strong , I know myself that shane has worked on that area and has got a good plan , if he can pull it off is another matter , but at least hes prepared well and knows what to expect .
Hes been sparring one of my Heavyweights for this , a lad called Karl Beard , who has a very similar style to Enzo (without the lack of punch resistance) , hes 6ft 6 , 16 and half stone , with a long range solid jab .
I know its a Big ask but i do genuinely believe that Shane can Pull this off , Not saying i reckon he will , but theres definately a chance , dont write shane off in this yet .

I agree with Danny Price, I have watched 3 of his 4 fights so far I have been genuinally impressed with what I have seen so far. He puts his combinations together very well works off his jab effectively and does not waste his shots. I think Price will start being talked about a British title contender in a couple of years time as he has only had 4 fights so far in the paid ranks.

It depends if he stays injury free etc and Frank Maloney can get him regular bouts.

The cruiserweight division as gone from one of the worst to one of the best because they are starting to fight each other. I still think dickinson is the man to beat he will be to big and strong for askin in my view. I think there is question marks against conquest chin he was dropped by john anthony and been stopped a few times before turning pro. Also danny price will be pushing for a title by end of year he is the most exicting out of all of them.

Warren, Hatton and Maloney deserve a wee bit of credit in that Hatton has pushed Askin on Sky undercards as has Maloney pushed Dickinson and at least gained them each a bit of recognition with the casual viewer. allegedly's need for cards meant the division has also been reactivated as Sky didn't want Norton's fights - understandable but shows the value of having two regular TV outlets for British boxing. Cruiserweights could be a good watch in the next 12 months on these shores

Struggling to pick Dickinson's fight with Askin, quite like both and each have flaws. Don't underestimate Simmons though - it's said way too often but he really does have a pro style rather than amatuer. I'd be surprised if he doesn't look good vs Conquest and I reckon he'll out-strip Price over their careers as pros, though there could be a bit of national bias there!

I agree simmons is quailty he got a brill defence and builds combos really well but i do think price is the future of the cruiserweights. Simmons will stop conquest in my view.

I know the english wont like this but Simmons is going to beat all of the guys mentioned in this post, hes had and done exceptioally well with world class sparring partners who all have nothing but praise for him,so its down to him to prove himself now which imo he will do.

Not often i agree with you, aside from Enzo who do you think will posess the biggest threat domesticly for simmons
