De Mori vs Welliver Who You Got?

If this match up of WBC Asian champs, Conquerors of Calloway, would occur in 2012 who do you think would win it?
I don't think De Mori has the power to bother Welliver. Or the skills, work rate or endurance to hang with Chauncy. I'm calling for a Welliver KO in 4 or shortly there after. And every round going Welliver's way up to the stoppage.

Couldn't put it any better myself.
As under rated as Welliver is, We all know he does ok but i just think de Mori wins this by a brutal KTFO. I hope this fight happens in 2012.
If Mark does not go to the USA this year then this fight has to be made.
If it don't happen then maybe Welliver vs Leapia?.

I think Welliver, although he struggled in his last fight he'd have too much for the in-active De Mori, who let's face it isn't really that good. Welliver by decision (unless De Mori gasses, could he go 12?)

De Mori sparks Welliver early i reckon, then puts him away.
I see it like this, if De Mori does not knock Chauncy out, then Chauncy wins via decision.

Chauncy has shown how good his chin is, not sure Mark can knock him out unless he can successfully attack the body, which Chauncy would know so defend IMO
However I think mark actually outpoints Chauncy over the distance without to much trouble.
Everyone thinks cause of the way Mark looks he doesn't have a gas tank and must be slow. I can assure you that going the distance will not be a problem and his speed is there for all to see.

I'm surprised that De Mori is getting so much support. Odlanier Solis is a highly skilled man with the power to crush good HW's. he couldn't even knock a very fat Welliver down. De Mori is a you tube trained guy with limited skills from what I have seen. John Wyborn dominated him even before the brutal KO. Calloway took a monster shot and popped right back up. I don't know if he can hit anybody that flush ever again.
Welliver is now 235 or less at fight time. His power is enough to crack De Mori's chin. That is without any doubt. But De Mori being able to drop him, that is a monster long shot. Welliver's 12 round stamina is unquestioned. Mark is not established in that area. I think every edge goes to Welliver besides pure power. But when you combine the chins of the 2 Welliver still has the edge. I also do not think that Mark's body style is condusive to work rate over 12 rounds. I know Welliver can throw as many in round 12 as round 1. 100's per round. I think Mark will get very tired late in fights.
If the betting lines were to go off anything like this poll so far, i would bet every red cent I had on Chauncy Welliver. 2/1 odds is how I expected it to be the other way around. I would leverage my entire credit line to put even more on Welliver for this bout. It is that big of a no brainer IMO.

Wyborn.
You are going back nearly 8 years to a prelim fight between a 6 fight novice and a 38 match veteran. You'll have to do better than that mate.

People routinely go back 8 years to talk about Welliver's early losses and his physique. And none of those matches and none of his champion level sparring experiences ever ended with him getting KTFO like that.
I have no doubt De Mori has better skills now but that chin is the same or worse. You can't train chin and that is why Mark talks so lowly of sparring. He can't handle sparring because he can't take shots like a pro. he says that is hoiw guys get punch drunk....that is how guys learn their craft man.
Chauncy not only has a huge edge in ring experience but also in sparring experience. Top guys do not sneak up on Welliver because he bangs with them all. Some of the body work going back and forth between Welliver and Povetkin in his championship camp for Chagaev was as brutal as it gets. De Mori has none of this stuff going for him.
Chauncy knows in his soul of souls that he can take big shots from every man on the planet....cause he has done so. Mark De Mori may tell himself stories but deep down he knows that anybody in the HW Division can crack his egg of a jaw at anytime.
I like this fight even better because people are thinking highly of Mark. After Chauncy takes care of Seth Mitchell, mark would be a good tune up before a Klitschko fight.

I'd be keen for this fight but not sure what De Mori has in his future plans. If he's keen to fight, so am I. He has the great connect here in America so we can do it here, my team can contact King about doing it in NZ or China, or maybe Mark can get it done in OZ. We'll see.

Serious now, If Welliver is all that then where are the fights with Helenius or Fury? Or even a top 20/30 fighter?......... I still think de Mori beats him but again if your such a hard ass to KO - with a top winning streak why bother with a up and comer and set your sites at the top if your so good. :??
I doubt this question will ever get answered.

Here's a answer to your question... With the risk/reward in fighting the Furys or Helenius' in their countries and I'm sure they are not wanting to come to America to fight as the money here is not what they make. Fighting in Europe has proven to be very hard to get a fair shake. I'd love to fight Fury, for sure. Have offered up my services on a few occassions as they have the money to pay there. No fair shake there either, but I feel he's a big enough name and green enough it'd be worth the risk. And De Mori has a title that leads to mine, so he is now a contender, not an up and comer. I feel he has gotten really good as he learned loads in California while he was there training with Sergio Martinez and team. Do I think he can go to the title? No, but I do feel he has a great team behind him who will eventually get him a title shot.
And I've never said I was a "hardass to KO" or "so good", I've only stated on here I would take a fight that is being talked about.

Chauncy, what did you think about DeMori's performance against the Veteran, Calloway?

Yes Chauncy reportedly has an iron jaw, but pretty sure the shots the Leapai hit Mark with (yes Alex was on debut) showed that Mark doesn't exactly fall down if you tickle him.

There is a ten year, 133 page thread on Rob Calloway in Current Scene.
Is Shonk Fried trying to start one for Chauncy?

Calloway at a huge site like Boxrec...started April of 2002, 3,275 replies and 122,757 views. Impressive but not P4P worthy.
Welliver at tiny little DavidTua.net...started Oct. 20, 2009, 2,409 replies and 62,245 views. That is P4P posting power.

Nobody can compete with Welliver in any boxing category in the region.

I heard he was a bit of a groupie at Oxnard trained along side them but wasn't interested in fighting hence why he left the camp to come back. Watching his last couple of fights he only looks good when there are no punches coming back at him hence he chose those last two opponents as punching bags, he is still very amateurish in his footwork and defence but has a good management and marketing team to sell him that is about as good as he gets. The US trip was just an opportunity for snap shots and to make up more stories on how good he is so more online interviews and more stories on his training regimes can be posted for his hungry yuppie fanclub.

Oh my god what is wrong with this dude! Mate for the record you're on the payroll, i don't want to hear ya shitt that you're not....plain and simple you're payed to come on here and Talk up Mr Welliver. I have mates that box and have very healthy records and i see them quite regulary, so why am i not here doing the same dribble day in day out, well let me enlighten you, why would i throw away my credability, time & money, if in fact they turn out to be dud's? Don't get me wrong i wish my mates all the best and i pray they live to thier true potential, but i'm not going to embarrass them and allow for ridicule to occur if they fall short, all because i've been promoting them as the second coming of Ali.
You seem like a solid bloke, and mate i'm in sales so i like the fact that you understand the term "sprinkle a little dust on the truth" but my friend you've given new meaning to the word "Cowboy seller".....you're way over the top in a entertaining way....not laughing with you, just so we're on the same page!
I hope Chauncey becomes everything you dream, because he generally is a nice bloke, albeit not a lot of follow thru on what he says, but hey that's boxing today, not many can do it all like they did years ago, Box,earn money, entertain the fans and uphold credability as the badest man on the planet undisputably by beating everyone.
Today, Boxers lose the fans as soon as they come to forums sprooking about winning some chinese crap title and throwing there name out there to challenge probably the most unbeatable heavyweights in heavyweight history, because they're looking for a payday. And thats what boxing fans want stopped, we don't want to see a bloke enter a fight until he seriously thinks he can win, not because he thinks it's time to collect a large cheque before the Klits retire.
Alls i'm saying is, i hope you're around to collect your "
![[icon_shame.gif] :shame:](./images/smilies/icon_shame.gif)
" when reality kicks in.
If you're a true believer, you would tell him to fight maybe 4-5 guys in the top 20 before thinking about fighting the machines.
