This guy was undefeated in his first decade as a pro, held the WBO Jr. Middleweight title for 4 years, prior to winning the WBA middleweight title from Reggie Johnson in 1993. 3 fights later, he lost his title to Jorge Castro (then 95-4-2), who KO'd him in the 9th round of their fight after being pretty much shut out up to that point. His career seemed to go downhill from there - won his next 3 fights (none against big names), then lost 3 in a row - a controversial Decision to 9-6 Abdullah Ramadan, a TKO7 to middleweight king Bernard Hopkins, a points loss in a rematch with Castro, followed by a his final fight, a KO win against a ham-and-egger in September 1999.

Anybody know more about him? Seems like one of the many guys who actually had quite good careers, but then got some bad breaks and are all but forgotten just a few years later.

He was one of the group of Kronk fighters who all took the WBO route in the late 80s/early 90s.Have only saw his fights with Reggie johnson and the first Castro fight. He was a talented slick defensive fighter.A fine technician but perhaps a bit safety first. The Castro fight ruined him and i think he was pretty much shot when he lost to Hopkins. The Castro fight reminded me of Jackson/Graham.

He's underrated IMO.Worth checking out if you like slick boxers.
