He did say his inactivity of late was due to him dropping weight to go down to cruiser .
I did think at the time it was unlikely but i guess this confirms it .

Ha ha , id have to agree , didnt think he seemed like someone with the right discipline to drop to cruiser , if he had that ability then he wouldnt have ever been in the shape he has been .
Hes always come across descent enough , and hes not the worst heavyweight in the world but while out of shape he will never be much good .

it depends what you mean by out of shape, there are people who have been called out of shape before and done well look at juan diaz everyone said he was pudgy but he did great, how in shape you are isnt everything, i know quite a few guys who are like 18-19 stone and can run for miles and trust me its not muscle they are packing

Some people have more of a level of natural fitness , certainly .

unfortunately carl needs to lose weight and gain fitness to drop down to heavy!!
in all seriousness, he is a nice guy but too illdisciplined lifestyle wise to do anything even on the domestic front, he had his 5 mins of fame in the williams fight.
live the life and train hard carl if you want to make a comeback, then it can be a proper one!!

Haven't spoken to Carl for well over 18 months when he was between managers. He always seemed a nice bloke and I wish him all the best with his comeback.

I think Carl is too nice, i.e. not nasty enough. His skills aren't too bad but he ends up looking like such a wreck after a round or two, that I'd rather not see it myself.

He was stopped in a round by the German prospect Gerber last year on the Sylvester-Geale undercard, was in OK shape for him compared with the pathetic condition he has been in for Prizefighter and the Chisora bouts. If he gets himself in shape around 240 then I'll take an interest in seeing him again, won't get my hopes up though.
There aren't many worse sights in boxing then seeing an obese HW boxer, makes a mockery of the sport.
