I can see a field day for the promoters with the taglines.
Dempsey-Tyson...
"Fire & Brimstone."
"The Baddest MEN on the planet."
"Don King vs. Tex Rickard...oh, and Tyson against Dempsey, too."
Robinson-Leonard...
"The Sweetest Thing."
"Sugar Hit."
"One Lump Or Two (Hundred)?"

Ali vs the young Tyson would probally do 5 million Ppvs easily. Just imagine the before the fight antics. SRL Vs Oscar would do really well also.

Yeah, Ali-Tyson and Leonard-De La Hoya were two of the first fights I thought of.
It was tough to choose bouts which didnt include De La Hoya and Ali (among many others, of course), such was their popularity.
Sullivan-Jeffries would have been immense to a certain generation.

Can you imagine Leonard at the negotiating table with Robinson or De La Hoya (especially Robinson)!? The line from
Jaws springs to mind.
"You're gonna need a bigger table."

I would pay good money to just see the negotiations

Indeed. They may've even outdone the fight itself!
Rickard and King in the same room arguing purse splits, gate-takings, and PPV numbers would be another spectacle of high drama.

Johnson/Dempsey- Assuming the hypothetical allows technological advances in the time. If those two met at the height of Dempsey's popularity and Johnson's hate with the world watching it would have been insane.
Leonard/Mayweather- Floyd has somehow turned out to be a bigger PPV star than Oscar. Though he doesn't sell as many tickets, a fight with he and Leonard would be huge.

I dont think it would have the same promotional angles as Leonard-De La Hoya, though.

I think it would be perceived by the general public as more competitive. It's alarming how many buy into Floyd's claims of being the greatest ever. As far as promotional angles, good vs bad plays better than good vs good. Unless Leonard & Oscar pulled a political type campaign and dug up each others dirty secrets.

If Johnson won that fight, they might finally have gotten him.
At the height of Dempsey's popularity, Johnson wouldnt have made it out of the arena had he won (which I dont think he wouldve, mind).
