Clev vs Some German/serbian milkman.

WBO are a disgrace for sanctioning this fight. Krasniqi has not boxed anyone in the top 50.

In his 39 fights he's only boxed 13 people with winning records what a joke.

Is this fight really worth switching on?

Should have heard Bunce and Warren defending it last night. The choice before Krasniqi was "some New Zealander who nobody can find". Warren thought aloud that he might be in the outback but then clarified it wouldn't be in the outback as that was Australia. Bunce wiped the arse sweat from his lips and exploded with hilarity at what was clearly a moment of comedic genius. Not sickening at all.

Bunce's boxing hour on allegedly is starting to remind of the propaganda in 1984. His London Radio show is alot better.

You're shocked by this shit?

The WBO have been doing this since 1989.

Any wonder why 90% of British 'world champions' have been WBO champions?

And we know which promoter was behind most of them.

Im not shocked i just wonder why FW wouldnt want to make a solid legitimate champion out of him instead of taking him through the european bum route, After all Clev is a class act and doesnt need to be fighting these guys.

Not really. He's got very little technical ability, just a decent workrate and chin. Anyone who doesn't stand stationary with chin out has been referred to as awkward against Clev, he just looks clueless. There's a good reason he's not going in with Hopkins, Dawson or Cloud.

Maybe this opponent is cheap and thats all they can afford these days!

The WBO rankings are a joke, mainly because of the continental titles they give out which put a boxer from each continent in the rankings when there are some continents that just do not have anyone good enough. I'm assuming they're on about Soulan Pownceby, the WBO #3 and Asia-Pacific champion, who has an even worse record than Krasniqi (and whose past makes Tyson look like a saint).

The WBO #2 fighter, Braimah Kamoko the WBO Africa champion, wouldn't be allowed to fight here by the BBBofC because he has had cataracts. God knows what a guy with cataracts is doing with a #2 ranking....

As for the #1 Sukhotsky, he doesn't even have a promoter/manager. So #4 Krasniqi it was.

So allegedly said there was only 2 ranked fighters prepared to fight for the WORLD title? - and this was supposed to be a semi serious comment?

Bet you Tony Bellew loved hearing that.

Why do Brits recognise the WBO belt as an credible world title?

Oh yeah because without it, we'd of only had two or three world champs in the last 20+ years, as opposed to the ridiculous and out of proportion number we've 'enjoyed' since the WBO's inception in 89.

He ran out the list from number 1 to Krasniqi, it took half the show (I jest).

Krasniqi was apparently rejected because Nathan had to fight a mandatory, it just so happened that nobody higher than Krasniqi was available so Krasniqi then became the (convenient) mandatory.

I've never given the WBO title much credibility and I've always thought of it as the 'British World Title'.
I know that there are a number of big international names that have held one in recent years but I think the WBO title is the least worthy of the lot...and that's saying something considering the ridiculousness of the other sanctioning bodies.

If things had worked out different I'm certain that the WBU title would have been forced down our throats as a legit world championship. Imagine the number of world champions we would have had then! Britain woud have been the world champion capital of the world.

No one considers Cleverly a world champion just like nobody considered Herbie Hide a world champion, but for me it's all about who you beat for the belt, not the 3 letters that come before it. The WBO are bad, but it's not like the other 3 haven't been just as bad over the last few years. If you fight Barrera for the WBO belt for example, you are fighting for the proper title.

None of the belts are credible until they are owned by a credible champion (who they then make into a super champ which starts the whole process over again)

Allegedly said on Bunces boxing show monday gone said they should find out by end of week whether another world title fight was gonna be on the bill. Theres a vid of it up on youtube where he says it- bout 10mins in.

Exactly. A belt can only be as good as its holder.

And the holder can only be as good as the people he defends it against.

I actually rate Cleverley, but fighting opponents like this will eventually change my opinion (or at least put it in doubt). I'd rather see him fight someone decent and lose, and then come back better for it.

People like Krasniqi (or whatever it is) only get put in these fights because they have a name no-one can pronounce (a bit like the Allardyce-Allardici syndrome in football). Seriously - is this guy any better than Bellew? Or would this fight really sell more tickets than a rematch?

They should really be screening all Clev's defences on the comedy channel, which is where Bunce's show belongs too.

I agree wit Lenny.

I do think Clev could become a top fighter. But he needs to develop his skills over and above being able to outwork his opponent. He can do this but he needs to be properly brought on.
