Anyone else think Quigg was pretty funny on Ringside earlier?

He makes the point that Rendall is #1 and he is #2 so why should he go backwards to #3 Frampton. McGuigan didn't know what to say

It was funny when Rendall and Scott were just laughing at the mention of Frampton.

I don't know why but I never get the impression Quigg is full of confidence, talking about Frampton or Munroe. He's clearly and nice lad and might just be showing them some respect but I just never get the feeling he's 100% sure of himself. Of course, that doesn't matter if he carries on doing the business in the ring.

McGuigan's man love for Frampton is almost sickening. I was cheering both Quigg and Munroe on when they were giving him some stick.
Frampton is good but so far he hasn't fought the calibre of opponents that Quigg and Munroe have. Even Adam Smith told him to take his Frampton hat off for a moment.
As for him claiming that the public want to see Frampton against Munroe or Quigg...yeah one day Barry. At the moment I'm looking forward to the #1 and #2 getting it on. Give your boy some proper competition, let's see how he does and maybe he can fight one or both of them later down the line.
If he's not careful he'll make Frampton a hate figure...and that wouldn't be fair on Carl who seems a decent kid.

I don't think Smith merits all the stick he sometimes gets, but I thought he was a bit odd with that last night. He did say take off the Frampton hat and then two seconds later he was the one asking Barry about Frampton. I thought it was a tricky position for Barry to be in.

I liked it when Adam Smith said just take your Frampton hat off for the minute

I noticed that Munroe looked at least one weight division above Quigg. Whether that would be the case come fight time i don't know.

As his manager you have to have the man love surely? I didn't see it mind you so it may be chunderingly bad but the bottom line is you have to be promoting your own fighter as the best etc etc...

Yeah, you're absolutely right. But I think there is a fine line between promoting your fighter and acting like an obsessed fan. At times I thought he was a bit disrespectful to both Quigg and Munroe.
Don't get me wrong, I think Frampton is going to be big but Barry needs to calm down. He was almost embarrassing last night.

I will watch it if I can bear it, I like Barry I have to admit but he can be a bit simple sometimes though, whether that's from boxing or just him who knows.

I think that's just the way he is, he can get a bit hyperactive at times...you can never question his enthusiasm! I actually like him but it isn't the first time he's made a bit of a tit of himself when talking abut Frampton.

Haven't seen it but was it any worse than Eddie Hearn about Haye vs Harrison?

Just saw the clips on skysports.com, when asked why either of them should fight Frampton instead, that is genuinely the only time I've seen Barry lost for words. Drew a wry smile

No it is not just you ! - especially when he starts shadow boxing and moving around (generally throwing more shots that during some of his actual fights).

The best bit was when he was stood in the ring between Scott and Rendal and says to Rendall "so, tell us how you are going to beat Quigg then" - Rendall (and Quigg) both just looked at him as though he is a right nob !

It reminds me of a Dad messing around with his kids when he does that; he seems to ask a question and instead of letting them answer he starts throwing little digs at them and they don't seem to know what to do.

I love the Nelson in the ring section.

It`s so embarrasing to watch, yet I am strangely drwan to it. He always does the same moves and no one knows how to take it.

I personally wasn't so sure about the new cocky Rendall Munroe. I really like him normally but wasn't as impressed as normal after this weeks appearance on Ringside.

Nelson in his dress shirt pitty pattying away on Munroe & Quigg was surreal, then asking them "oh without giving anything away, how are you going to beat him" - To detract from it, I started counting how many times Munroe said "you know" "at the end of the day" "know what I mean" and "know what I'm saying".

They laugh with nerves, frampton beats both men with pure ease.
