Is Groves pulling out of Stieglitz fight?

Just wondering if anybody has heard anything from a reliable source as there are rumours going around that Groves has a broken nose. I want to buy tickets for the fight, but won't bother if the Groves fight isn't on the bill.

Thanks in advance.

Id be more happy with that, than if Smith got the chance..hes beat 2 journeyman type fighters since his Dodson win&lost convincingly to the 2 live opponents hes faced...

This is the WBO and given the relationship between said organisation and he who cannot be named I'd be massively shocked if DeGale got a chance.

I'm leaning towards the fact he is injured. Normally tweeting and so forth regular and no interested party has come forward to squash the rumours, which are surely damaging travelling fan's confidence in booking the trip.

Perhaps indicative towards the fact they are hastily trying to get a replacement fighter in place. Hopefully another Brit like Anderson or Degale to satisfy those brits already booked to go over already.

If no brit involved they will surely all cancel as Erfut is only famous for being the place they built the WW II Nazi crematoriums at.

I'm thinking the same thing. No comment at all is not a good sign. I actually live in Germany but am only going to make the trip if Groves is fighting. There are barely any tickets left though which is why I am hoping to hear something one way or the other asap. If Degale were to step in I would probably still consider it, but I wouldn't bother for Anderson or Paul Smith.

No chance of Smith or Anderson stepping in. They're nobodies outside of the UK boxing scene.

As I said earlier, I am slightly in the know with the DeGale camp (even though I dislike DeGale) and I was told this morning that Chunky has been offered the fight.

I think he will be mad to turn in down, then he can have the rematch with Groves if successful..

Surprised if the German's are offering it to DeGale, because there's a good chance DeGale beats him. They probably see it as an even tougher fight than Groves....I hope so anyway, as it'd be a brilliant replacement fight. If FW is looking to keep hold of DeGale, this would probably do it.

If Groves is out and DeGale steps in, no reason why Kenny shouldn't replace DeGale against Sanavia for the vacant European - except that fight is pretty much under Sauerland control and they have a great relationship with FW, and Kenny isn't signed with him. It'll need to be someone fit and ready though as the Sanavia date is next weekend. If Kenny has an easy night on Alex Arthur's show, he'd be ideal

He didn`t run from Anderson,he has already stopped the guy and was prepared to do so again. He just shafted Anderson for a fight which will get him more money and could give him a World title.I reckon about 90% of boxers would of done the same and if Anderson can genuinely say he wouldn`t do the same in Groves position then he is a better person then most.

Yes he did run from him! He was never keen on fighting him again and only did so because it was forced upon him. Anderson was unprepared in the first fight and got damm close to beating him, a fully prepared Anderson would be three times the fighter that almost stopped Groves and Groves knows that. There are fans and fighters that have sacrificed things for that fight and Groves just pulls out is unfair on all involved, also lieing to the fans in the process by claiming a pathetic excuse of a injury.

I don`t think we will ever agree on this mate,it wasn`t nice but it was bussiness. If the rumors are true then you should get your wish and we will see once and for all who is best :TU:

I agree and i favour Groves big time if they fight again. If the rumors are true and the Stiglitz fight is off then this should happen in the summer
