We used to train down at the old Gleason's when Panama Lewis hung around there.
One day, these guys brought their Middleweight down from the Bronx to spar one of Panama's Middleweights. They'd arranged it a few days beforehand but Panama said his boy hadn't showed up. He said his Light Heavy was available though.
They laced up but then the eagled eyed Bronx trainer noticed something. Panama's LH was wearing 12oz gloves! After cussing Panama out, the Bronx trainer then found out that Panama had told his Middleweight not to come in that day. Just so he could get the upper hand in a sparring session with his heavier guy. But that wasn't enough. He had to cheat with the gloves too.
The guy's known in the gym as an out and out serial cheat. If he had the choice of earning a fair dollar or stealing a dime, he'd slide towards the dime.
