You can't change rules just for one fight, it has made a mockery of the Irish title and Irish boxing, certain people have sold out here.

I dont see how you can change the number of rounds a championship bout is fought over just for one fight, seems riduculous. Would it really have made that much of a difference if it had been held over 10 rounds? Money talks as always.

I don't see the problem. Fury rematch with Mcdermott was moved to 12 rounds and that was for the english title. Tv probably wanted a 12 round fight. It's not like Rogan was winning after 10 rounds and lost it in the last two.

Well you probably missed the weigh in video as he was equally as angry about the decision then and could have effected his approach to the fight especially if he'd been training for 10 rds not 12 rds and at the age of 40 those 2 extra rds would have been a big advantage for Fury so i can understand his anger here, totally wrong to change it the day before.

Lots wrong with the whole pantomime of this fight in my opinion. But I'm boring myself with my innuendos and theories.

The programs for the fight on fight night had 12 rounds listed on them. The programs would have been printed a few days in advance. I think is disagreement was just to try and hype the fight and sell more tickets. It was not a total sell out as only half the venue was used. After the crowd trouble on saturday night I don't think Fury would be getting a bigger crowd if he fought in Belfast again.

i have never heard of a irish title fight being 12 rounds always been on the same level as english title.

so let me get this straight, both fighters signed up for a 10 rounder.

how can it be changed without both camps agreeing?

if this is the case, it's simply unbelievable, how can you shift the goalposts days before the fight - it can effect an entire traning camp.

should of been a 12 rounder, all title fights should be 12 rounds

id agree that by the time your fighting for a domestic title you shoudl be contesting it over the full 12.

but you cant just pick and chose when its 12 rounds, and move the goal posts on a fighter who signed up for less rounds, and is training for less rounds.

i agree with that but it should of been scheduled for 12 rogans camp should of realized when the contract was drawn up and flagged it to the irish commision

The vast majority of national title fights are 10 rounds, some even 8 rounds. The only major countries that have 12 rounds as standard for national titles are Mexico, South Africa and Britain.

It's wrong changing a fight at the last min like he done IMHO, it's plain to see that Rogie was fuming, he is right to feel like that IMO, Fury over the last few months has gone up in my estimation, I feel it's the man looking after him who is making him look soft and is turning him into an unpopular kid, he should never have been made to vacate his titles! Believe me he would of got a HUGE payday had the fight with Pricey gone to purse bids and I'm talking HUGE believe me!

i belive this because that is championship distance at the moment, if i had my way i'd bring back 15 round fights.

its championship distance so if you want to be a champion you should have to do championship distance

It's pretty unprofessional on both sides that they haven't got the number of rounds sorted way before the fight happenned. It strikes me that Hennessey just went for this fight in Belfast because he thought it would sell better, going for the Irish title against a popular fighter from Ireland, i don't think that Tyson was bothered about the title or where it was held. He gave up the British title to avoid Price IMO. I think that Rogon has a point and i agree with what he is saying, but he also seems to have used it to have a go at Mick, saying he had "ruined the kid" and was obvioulsy peeved that the fight wasn't close enough for a prospective re-match and another payday. In the end it didn't make much difference but Rogan may have adopted different tactics had he known the fight was scheduled for two extra rounds.

I would have loved to see have seen Tyson Fury to have gone in with David Price when Fury had the British and Commonwealth beblts not just because of the huge pay day that he and Price would have got. But through the sheer interest that the fight would have generated as it could have generated more interest than DeGale-Groves did last year in terms of a domestic superfight as you would have Fury looking to avenge an amateur loss against Price and would have been pumped up for it with his all out balls out style against Price's superior technical ability. I still think it is going to happen somewhere down the line simply because the fans want to have one British Heavyweight to get behind.

I hope it happens mate, I just believe Hennesy doesn't want it, I think Fury believes he can beat anyone as all us fighters do but it's down to Hennesy why he vacated them titles not Fury...

yep, when i talked to pricey he said anytime and ive read fury saying that a few times so i dont belive either fighter is to blame on this fight not happening

I share the same nagging doubts Bomber about whether or not it is going to happen in the future because of Mick Hennessy unless either one of the following happens.

1: Channel Five practically puts a gun to his head and say make it happen or we will tear up your contract with us.
2: Sky and Adam Smith spunk an utterly absurd amount of money to get it to happen because they know it will get an increase number of viewers on standard Sky and advertising revenue.

However the politics will get in the way of it as per usual.
