What happened to the Grange card that was Surpose to be on in newcastle? Looked like being a great card
Maybe they don't want to lose moneyHounddawg wrote:I don't know either mate, but Aus boxing is starting to avert back to 2009, the last 2 years of Australian boxing has been the best, and this year thus far has produced no where near the level of first class matchups.
This card was great and the same mould as the 2010 and 2011 years, it disappears and apart from the Tomlinson card, the rest of the cards look so c level, it's hard to get excited.
Comn Grange give us another 3 or so steller cards.
Well maybe they seen that the card wasn't going to viable so they didn't go ahead with it, define success alot of promotors have come & gone, the ones that go broke are the ones that put on the best cards, your saying that the promotors who put on shit cards aren't successful thats not true the ones that put shit cards are the ones that are successful.ratter wrote:No its not that card..can't remember the card but cronje was fighting Amman.
Don't like to see anyone lose money and i kno boxing a tough game but grange has done enough cards to kno if there going to lose money. They put on a good show and you get your moneys worth.not like these blokes who put terrible shows on and just try to rob everyone and then wonder why there not successful.
Lets face it Mark. 60% of patrons are there for night of entertainment. They get on the slops & just wanna see guys KOd....couldn't care less about combatant's credentials nor title.Mark pawsey wrote:Well maybe they seen that the card wasn't going to viable so they didn't go ahead with it, define success alot of promotors have come & gone, the ones that go broke are the ones that put on the best cards, your saying that the promotors who put on shit cards aren't successful thats not true the ones that put shit cards are the ones that are successful.ratter wrote:No its not that card..can't remember the card but cronje was fighting Amman.

I have to agree with you on this one, I remember when Angelo Hyder had Hayden Knowles fighting http://boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_ ... &cat=boxer, he was Danny Greens fitness trainer or some shit. I heard he sold 20 tables the fight was on foxtel he's not even a boxer. I bet there would of been plenty of proper boxers they could of put on the card, but a proper boxer wouldn't be able to sell that many tickets, how many of them people that came to see him fight would of came to the next promotion? Probably noneDa Voice wrote:Lets face it Mark. 60% of patrons are there for night of entertainment. True boxing followers generally reserve a seat. Most corporate tables are there 'cos bossman coughed-up coin and most wouldn't know a boxer if they fell over one....stand ups are mostly piss pots
I thought Keiran O'Connor did more shows than that, who was that other crew. I think they islanders they promotored at Homebush? I think they promoted Briggs vs Drews.Da Voice wrote:Over the years, numerous successful businessman were conned into promoting boxing by know alls, telling them how easy it was.
e.g. Keiran O'Connor http://boxrec.com/list_shows.php?human_ ... t=promoter
had a very good property management business. When he found himself in the shit, he ventured into trust accounts to get himself out of the shit. Jupters Casino show was the end of him.
Guess who was his advisor on that occasion ??
Mr Caraddona is another story (which by now I'm sure you're well aware of). Others simply didn't have coin to scratch themselves with & should've never been granted a licence
He might've. In those days Boxrec obtained results from ANBF site, which didn't state promoter, officials etc. d-Rush Promotions promoted Briggs/Drews http://boxrec.com/list_shows.php?human_ ... t=promoter Forgot who was the main bloke behind it.Mark pawsey wrote:I thought Keiran O'Connor did more shows than that, who was that other crew. Hayden Knowles was the strength and conditioning coach for the Parramatta NRL team. Green was doing fitness work with the team and the fight was at Parramatta Leagues Club. Knowles just made up the numbers for a four rounder. The bloke he fought Jaques Hendrisson) was not much anyway. So far he has a record of 0-6-2.Mark pawsey wrote:I have to agree with you on this one, I remember when Angelo Hyder had Hayden Knowles fighting http://boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_ ... &cat=boxer, he was Danny Greens fitness trainer or some shit.
