Underrated? Maybe. Awful to watch? Definitely

Excellent news, very under rated and very effective fighter.

The Broadhurst fight put me right off watching either of them again.

Apart from early on when he scored a few nice looking stoppages, every single Haskins fight has been scrappy.

I know what you mean, but the fact is Haskins is more effective than Napa, who only beat Haskins because Lee was injured. I'm not saying I'd rather watch Haskins, but I do think he's earned some of the chances Napa had after failing previously. Napa's style was far more pleasing on the eye, but he often fell short (excuse the unintended pun).

Barca play some good football, but the apparently more effective Real might well win la liga. Of course, whether or not you watch Jose pick up the trophy is another matter !

I dunno about that. For me Napa was always beating Haskins, injury or not and I'd have him down as the more effective fighter.
Haskins would have been beaten soundly by a fighter like Booth a couple of years back and Damaen Kelly would have made him look silly. Napa was in very close fights with these guys.

My misses hated the Napa fights I watched at home, his name became synonymous with the full 12 rounds.

Haskins has racked up the wins though as deserves a shot. All the best to those who buy a ticket.

Has been in a couple of stinkers but I've also enjoyed several of his fights.

Have to disagree there (although its from memory), but I thought Haskins got injured early on and fought on for a few rounds with one hand/arm. I also think it was (another) last chance saloon for Napa. I think at that stage, an injury free Haskins would have won that for me.

Haskins didn't lose a round in Prizefighter and was probably the most obvious winner of any prizefighter show to date. Many thought a man with Broadhursts amateur credentials would have made Haskins look silly, but he didn't, if anything the opposite were true. And you can take different fights from earlier in Napas career too, you could argue that Haskins would have beaten rather than lost to Marc Callaghan for example. Haskins win against McDonnell looks even more impressive now than it did then, he went (almost in silence) to Morocco for what was alleged to have been a small amount of money to take on the home fighter and win a WBA side belt. The guy has shown peserverance and determination for his shot, he kept going when others might have lost motivation. As you say, he's earned his shot and I hope he makes the most of it. He won't be gifted anything if it doesn't go to plan, that's for sure.

For the record, I also though those 12 round Napa fights were most enjoyable
